Yesterday's game was such a joke that during the Late Hits show earlier tonight on SiriusXM's NFL channel, the Godfather himself Gil Brandt left himself open to the suggestion that the league should consider re-visiting the rule, enacted during the 1978 off-season, that forbids defenders from making contact with receivers after the first 5 yards past the LOS. Prior to 1979, defenders could make contact with receivers throughout their routes, but only so long as they placed themselves between the receivers and the end zone being defended whenever contact was made. I obviously would be very much in favor of such a re-visitation.
