OT: Jimmy G Carted Off Late In Chiefs Game. Serious Knee Injury Feared...

Just stop it. Yeah, he hangs on the ball too long EXCEPT for when he completes passes with his quicker-than-average release and superior accuracy. Got it. What happened to him today was a freak non-contact injury that had absolutely nothing to do with "poor decision making" or in your nonsensical assessment being "injury prone."

Agreed with the first part of the post but not the second. How was this not a poor decision? I’ve have no issues with the cutback if there was a big play to be gained but he cut back right into a defender. What did he expect to do, run him over on his way for a td? Wasn’t happening, he should’ve known better and got out of bounds to set up for the 4th and goal play.

CONFIRMED.....

The "G" in Jimmy G stands for GLASS

Funny to see all the postings talking as if this was a reckless move by Garoppolo. This was basically a young athlete making a routine cut while running and for whatever reason, his knee got twisted. **** happens. If he is so fragile that he cannot make a cut then we would have to say that he is simply not built for playing the vast majority of sports and should take up golf or darts instead.

this is because he was locked out of the TB12 center....

in all seriousness, sucks for the guy. but im really surprised he didnt protect himself when the potential gain was marginal. one of the core principals of being a patriot is protecting yourself. being available to the team for the long run is more valuable that marginal yards

That was irrelevant to the injury. He's a competitive football player trying to win from behind, that's why he was running with the ball.

A Raiders fan on Facebook already made this meme...FB_IMG_1537739742622.jpg

It’s not the cut it’s the question of what was to be gained by cutting right into a defender vs running out of bounds. He could’ve ended up perfectly fine and I’d still say it was a poor decision just due to the unnecessary hit he was going to take for what? 1-2 yards when it’s a goal to go situation anyways?

I didn't see Wentz play today but I'm wondering if he has changed his game any
No . I saw him scramble and dive, head first for a 1st down, with multiple defenders bearing down.

He made the play, but damn the mobile, risky QB's don't last long.

BTW, did the defender who hit JG, helmet to helmet, get penalized?
I know it wasn't the hit that took him out, just curious.

I’m pretty sure that’s not rule 1 of being a Patriot.

Questionable decision heading inbounds into contact. I thought he was out from the helmet hit.
But his knee injury had zero to do with decision making. On any play a player making a forceful momentum cut can over torque a knee joint. I've seen guys pop achilles with "no contact" just moving with force the wrong way. Vinny Testacerde in the pocket no contact.
Jimmy Boy was not lighting it up this season. We'll have to wait over another year and a half at least to evaluate him as a QB. Had the timing worked out I would have liked to watch him be the guy here after TFB.
Best wishes for a rapid & full recovery.

I didn't watch the game live. Just watched Jimmy's injury play. Not sure if a flag was thrown.

I watched it. He should have gone out of bounds but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel for the guy.

From the sounds of it, the injury was a fairly direct consequence of choosing to fight for a couple of yards rather than going out of bounds.
No, it was a non-contact injury.
