Falcons @ Eagles (-1): Who you got/game thread

Time for Atlanta to trade for Earl Thomas makes all the sense in the world.
Or if Richards is the guy we need to trade 1sts with Atlanta.

they have basically zero money left on their salary cap, making it nearly impossible

This should help Pats meet the conditions for the 2020 7th round pick assuming they were based on playing time

I'm surprised. The game to me was filled with all kinds of strange and interesting features... the thunder & lightning, the huge number of penalties, the high humidity that obviously fatigued the players to no end, the JJ performance, and the heavyweight slug-fest which was closely fought from beginning to end. The only thing that I found hard about watching it was the oft reference to the Philly SB win at our expense (not fun at all).

Yeah a lot of penalties due to the new helmet rule about. And really having that Keanu Neal out for the Falcons could hurt down the line.

It must have been Roger’s idea to penalize kneeling players on the opening kickoff. That won’t draw more attention and controversy.

Matt had other horrible passes, but while that pass could have been thrown sooner, it was still easily catchable. Julio makes that catch -- effortlessly -- 9 times out of 10.

Julio was expecting the ball to be thrown to the inside - and it should have been. Once it went to the outside and he had to turn his head completely around, that raises the difficulty level a ton. Nothing effortless about that catch once you get turned around.

Maybe the playcall was to throw to the outside but on a deep route like that and given how the defense reacted (not to mention the safety falling down), I doubt it. My take is that Julio made the right read, Ryan did not.

Your post makes no sense

27 and 2.

Anyone can have a great run but foles is a career backup at best. He caught a break when the vikings best corner went down. Vikings offense was dreadful. To allow 41 points to a career backup is terrible either way.

A career backup who threw 27 TDs to 2 INTs his second year in the league. That's a lot better as a passer than TB did in his second year.

He was a flash in the pan. So you’re saying he’s above average? Is that it?

He's better than 'career backup' level. His career TD to INT ratio is (slightly) better than 2-1. I expect in the right situation he could have done pretty well.

27 and 2 over the course of a 13 games season is a little bit better than fluke level, as is a 115 rating and 72% completion percentage in 3 postseason games this year. His last two games of the season he went up against what was arguably the best defense in the league and shredded it and then what was arguably the best team in the league and shredded them.
