Mike Reiss speculates brown and Roberts for golden tate

Eh, I like Reiss. People just need to realize when he makes comments particularly preceded by “as a fantasy gm I think” he’s just like a poster saying what they would do, and not act as if he is passing along a rumor.

I LOVE Reiss the journalist. I think saying Reiss the analyst is "just like a poster" is insulting some here at PatsFans. ;)

Is this wink, wink "speculation" or Reiss just tossing out a theoretical possibility in response to a question?
Reiss literally preceded it with “playing fantasy gm” and basically shot it down as unrealistic himself.

Whatever anyone thinks of Brown, there's no one else on the roster who can take over for him. Especially with Shelton here, we could see improvement with Brown. Malcolm has a different skill set from any other Pats dt.
Even if this trade were real, I wouldn't like it.
I'm sure they'll be other options for wr depth.

Yep.

Tate is an outstanding receiver and both he and Brown are in the last year of their contracts. Roberts is a throw in. Address the biggest need now.

How about Roberts, Richards, Grissom, Valentine, Gillislee, Allen, Croston & Ferentz in exchange for Tate, TE Michael Roberts, LG/LT Joe Dahl, SS Miles Killebrew & DT Sly Williams?

The Lions would do that, right?

If you're playing Madden

Basically it's Malcolm Brown for Golden Tate....I don't think I would do that straight up....The fact that we are so thin at the wide out position I might consider it though and add in that we would be getting rid of Roberts and I'm very intrigued!!!

They are also razor thin at LB. They do have enough with the overall receivers = if they stay healthy. The depth is very problematic unless they get a career year out of someone like White, Dorsett or Patterson. There's also the issue of peeps not learning the system

Bedard has been using Miguel's info to infer they can't keep Brown next year. Of course worst case there is a comp pick.

Tempting but it's a no for me.

Looking at the 2019 DL, it's not just about affording Brown. It's also about affording Shelton and Trey Flowers. Edge guys with well-rounded games are difficult to come by, and competent Nose Tackles may be even rarer, especially outside the first 15 or 20 picks.
