Why Tate?
Jones is the deep threat. Didn’t he average 18 ypc last season?
Not sure Detroit would want to move jones. 3 years left on his deal compared to 1 year for Tate.

In addition, Tate was trained in the E-P offense by Charlie Weis himself at Notre Dame. Not sure Detroit would want to move jones. 3 years left on his deal compared to 1 year for Tate.

Im still feeling Dez can be a force here or Trade for Demaryious or try to fleece Marvin Lewis for AJ Green.
I can dream
And AJ green is a hell of a dream. No way the bengals deal him this season.
Richards for Green Marvin needs a boy scout to chill out the Inmates over there.Sure they will and Green will play for a one year prove it deal.

We shouldn't be in this position with that much draft capital. Cooks was gone, Edelman coming back from ACL, Amendola gone.
There was enough information worth of drafting a WR. OK Mathews, Britt and Mitchel all dropping dead didn't help, that wasn't expected, I don't recall if Mathews was signed before or after the draft but anyways, they screw up and I believe BB and Caserio acknowledge that.
Money and a need at DT. But this is very much a hypothetical by Reiss based on those two needs on each team.Jones is pretty much a "deep threat" specialist. Tate can run every route, including deep. Tate has an average catch rate over 70% on a ypc of 11.4 yds with about 56% YAC.
I actually kinda wonder why the Lions would be willing to let him go.
I’d do it if they’re comfortable with the back-up plan for Brown’s role. Tate would fit like a glove in this offense.
I agree Tate would be a great fit. Would likely pick up the offense pretty quick with his ND background.
The problem is that,"if" they're comfortable with Brown backup plan.
That's a damn BIG if.
The D is looking like it might be better. Don't know why you mess that up. I think both run and pass D take a hit if you lose Brown. Wouldn't be so crucial if we could count on High for a full season but y'know.....
Doesn't excuse Bill from not addressing WR until the 7th round, and then using that pick on an unproductive midget....It's just not possible to cover every contingency at every position through one draft.
At this point, I'll take it.Want Tate. Expect Carr.
That seems like a stretch to me. Three weeks after the draft, on May 16, the problem seemed to be that they had too many wide receivers competing for the top few spots. It sounds like they were ready to cut Dorsett then if he didn’t take a pay cut, because he wasn’t projected to be a top 4 WR at the time. I’m not sure how it’s reasonable to expect somebody to predict what happened after that (other than Mitchell), much less everything that happened combined. We shouldn't be in this position with that much draft capital. Cooks was gone, Edelman coming back from ACL, Amendola gone.

I dream a little bigger than LafellIn Reiss’s latest blog on ESPN, he does not mention the possibility of acquiring Golden Tate. He focuses more on getting someone like Michael Floyd, Brandon Lafell, etc. Honestly, Lafell would not be a bad addition. Still hoping that Jordan Matthews makes his way back onto the team...
