New England Patriots center David Andrews has missed the last two days Patriots practices, but for very good reason as his wife MacKenzie welcomed a baby boy, James Ford Andrews, into the world on Monday.

Andrews revealed the news over his Instagram account Tuesday, sharing two photographs from the hospital alongside a caption that read;

“Words don’t really do it justice what the last couple of days have been like. But I do know this we are so blessed. I also know that my wife is as tough as nails. James Ford welcome to earth. Love ya son Go Dawgs.”

You can check out the first photos of “baby bear” below.

As for news regarding the Patriots centers own health, it was recently reported that an injury he sustained during practice on Sunday wasn’t considered serious. However, whether or not he plays in Thursday’s preseason opener against Washington remains to be seen due to the birth of his son. The Patriots will have two scheduled off days on Wednesday and Friday.

Back in March, the two-time Super Bowl champion Andrews resigned with the Patriots on a four-year contract worth $19 million.

From everyone at PatsFans, congratulations to the Andrews family!
