Wtf happened with Brissett deal?

How is quoting your own words a straw man?

Because you overreach on everything I write. At no time did I deny the team has been the best in the league or that Belichick doesn’t know what he’s doing, etc.

Here’s the thing, Andy. The Patriots themselves are the first to admit they aren’t perfect and their continuous quest to better themselves - the players, coaches, and personnel - is what makes them great. Even if they are the best organization in sports, that’s not to say that everything they do is the right decision. Belichick always talks about learning from mistakes and improving. Brady always talks about it. This isn’t lip service. They look at their decision making, their processes, their timing. They find within themselves many areas where they can improve.

YET on every decision the team makes, you are under the impression that they can’t make a mistake since they’re the Patriots, and there’s no organization that’s better, and whatever decision making process they used was the right one, since that process has led to their unprecedented success, although the truth is their formula and approach is always in flux and being fine tuned. You confuse the merit of individual decisions with the the overall leadership and conclude that if anyone disagrees with a single decision, or a series of decisions, they must think they would be better for the job, or that they don’t appreciate Belichick, or they are crazy because look at past results. That’s why almost everything you say becomes in a straw man. I’m glad the team team doesn’t think like that and encourages criticism and improvement in all areas. As Belichick always says, last year was last year. I’m clearly talking about how some of these questionable moves may impact the future in a negative way.

Have you ever been on the side of criticism and just acknowledge they made a mistake? One single time? Because that in itself shows how far away from reality and how homerish your takes are. The team would laugh at your takes, since they are hitting 1.000, if we were to look at how you evaluate their decisions.

The team is overall very good in personnel decisions but not other-worldly. Brady’s immense impact and amazing unselfishness allows them to get away with a lot. Their draft position year after year and the salary cap make what do downright impressive. But they are still “in the pack” with many other teams when it comes to player development and decisions. The other teams don’t have Tom Brady as a $15M quarterback or the best coach in league history. They do well with player development but they have a lot of leeway that other teams don’t and can better absorb mistakes.

You said and I am paraphrasing here but I quoted it early For a number of years the results by this organization have been terrible.
I am going by what you say.

This is nonsense. You are now covering your “they have sucked” comment by saying they always try to improve??

You are either a very stupid man or you know I never said anything of the sort.
You said they have sucked. I said that’s a moronic opinion. Please show me where I said every decision they make is good.
You are strawmanning our your ***.

You are arguing that self evaluation is a good thing, which any idiot would understand. I have no clue how you think that supports your argument.

I don’t think your POV is ignorant because you disagree with a single decision I think it’s ignorant because you say they have been awful for years. What teams have been good in 3 SBs and 2 championships in 4 years is awful?

Why has Volin not addressed the fact that the Colts GM has directly refuted this report? Does Volin stand by his source? Is he calling Chris Ballard a liar?

Volin is despised . Even half the media despise him. He has no source other than his @$$ or some obscure blogger.

I have a corroborated IQ of 140 (997th/1000 as a ranking compared to average population), so call me stupid at your own delusion. The team’s overall development of young players and return on the trades of quarterbacks have “sucked” since 2014/15, if that’s one of the many adjectives you’d like to cherry pick, and as usual, omit the context of where and how they’ve sucked in specific areas, but of course you attribute it to “the Patriots” making it seem like I’m throwing fire on everything the organization has accomplished.

“They have sucked” is a perfect example of why everyone hates you because you don’t even know what a straw man is. It’s that right there, manipulating the quote from the context of the comment, which was clearly directed at specific areas. But you manipulate it and imply “they have sucked” is also a knock on their performance and results on the field in previous seasons, rather than the clearly stated specific areas that I’ve gone through about 12 times: young player development which complicates their future talent pool, which is aggravated more by failing to capitalize more on trading two desired quarterbacks for an unquestionably small return.

I bet you are 6’6” 250, make $400,000 a year, have models chasing after you and are a really funny guy too. To all your internet pals.

The team’s overall development of young players and return on the trades quarterbacks have “sucked” since 2014/15, if that’s one of the many adjectives you’d like to cherry pick, and as usual, omit the context of where and how they’ve sucked specifically in those specific areas, but of course you attribute it to “the Patriots” making it seem like I’m throwing fire on everything the organization has accomplished.
A) that is not what you says earlier that I am saying you are wrong about
B) player development cannot suck while you are going to the SB 3/4 years.
C) qb trades were fine.
They could have gotten more for JAG but wanted him for insurance. That was more valuable to them. At the time he was traded he had 8 games left in his contract. You have to understand context.
Brissett stinks and never would have played here. What they got was value.

You said it not me. But since you are in denial I guess I’ll have to go back and quote it again.

Your words

The overall organization decisions have yielded poor - not just subpar, but just poor - results for several years now.

Insecure much?

No, just not used to being called “stupid” so thought their was some obvious supporting evidence to the contrary. Never said this aloud to anyone, nor does it make me better than anyone - in fact it makes me struggle in a lot of areas. Just stating the facts in direct response to an insult, but I understand why it would appear conceited. Comment was really just for Andy, but hey, it’s cool...I’d probably say the same thing if Inwere you.

I don’t think that I’m smarter than anyone here. But I think that should clarify I’m not stupid.

Nice try.
This was my comment.

“You are either a very stupid man or you know I never said anything of the sort.”

Which was in response to you making up
out of while cloth something I never even came close to saying.

I wasn’t calling you stupid I was calling your argument dishonest.

Sorry Ice, had to.

No problem,man.
I'm not following the whole back and forth with you two, thats too exhausting.
That just jumped out at me. I've always felt that anytime anyone refers to their great intelligence, awesome physical prowess, toughness, wealth or success with women on a message board, it actually weakens their argument.
An argument should be able to stand on it's own.
A lot of us are occasionally guilty of doing it, usually when the frustration level is low with who you're debating.
And I know most of us who've done it feel like idiots almost immediately after,as we should.
Except for me, since I am the sexiest man alive.

Nice try.

Please show me where I said anything of the sort.
Since you can’t that means either you know I never said it or you must be very stupid to come to the conclusion I said, or think that.

But feel free to show me where I said “the patriots made the decision so that means it was good because they have never been wrong about anything”

When a poster has you telling everyone your IQ level maybe it’s time to step away from the keyboard lol.

You seem obsessed with my personal life. You had asked if I am stupid, and you have your answer.

Just responding to a direct comment from Andy Johnson suggesting that I am “stupid”. Don’t see what the big deal is - I gave him an accurate answer. Calling people “stupid” is cool though?

Calling people stupid is not cool, especially from someone who has gotten butthurt in the past about personal attacks.

But responding the way you did comes off as being rattled and angry with Andy, at least to me anyway. Which is what he wants.

All good. I was kind of cringing while writing it, knowing the backlash, but it’s kind of like in a trial, don’t ask a question unless you know the answer. Now he has his answer.

Good advice...probably too over-the-top. Wish it had just been a hidden exchange because I wasn’t trying to advertise/brag, and as I’ve said, I’m no more qualified to have an opinion than anyone else...just that I don’t think it’s wise to characterize me as “stupid” (low intelligence.). Call me stubborn or whatever, but not something that is objectively incorrect.

You seem obsessed with my personal life. You had asked if I am stupid, and you have your answer.
No I was making a joke that someone who says what their IQ is on the internet probably lies about everything else too.

That’s why I didn’t call him stupid.
Read what I said.
