What about Uncle Meat? AKA the dumbest MFer any deity has ever placed on the face of the earth.
Damn near pissed my pants reading that.

Wait for the moslot thread asking if we’d trade Hightower to Cleveland for a 4th and 7th round pick.

The trade he’s proposing is Hightower along with wins in SBs 52, 46, and 42 in exchange for a third-round pick and losses in SBs 51, 49, and 39 (with a conditional of swap 39 for 36 depending on Hightower’s playing time.)

Id trade him for a First Round if we get a decent replacement (as in, someone as good as Van Noy for exambple) so we don't suck as much in the position.

I love HT, but he is not reliable

Perhaps Hightower has had a poor camp and not the player he was?

His name still brings clout in a trade though. Not uncommon for BB to unload players before they hit the wall. Hightower is 28 years old and his play dropped off in 2016. Yes, he made plays in the Super Bowl. Entering his 7th season he has only been available for 16 games 1 season.

Seems crazy, but the Pats nearly won the SB without him.

Agree we do not know in what shape is Hightower after the injury. All we know are some reports from the camp and a slogan "good to have him back". However if Hightower is really in a trade block as our best LB and has lost BB's trust I would be in shock in week 1 with our LB's core with KVN as a leader.

You can never rule anything out with Bill. Hightower is a middle LB thumper who rushes on 3rd down. If Bill think's he can get some of the early down production out of Bentley and the 3rd down rush from a combination of Rivers/Langi/Van Noy etc then he may pull the trigger. Hightower's health plays into this too. Perhaps they know his long term prognosis isn't great.

Now I don't think they just trade him for nothing but if someone offered a 2nd rounder or better then Bill may look at it.

What is interesting is they have a lot of similar style LBs - Hightower, Bentley, Van Noy, even Roberts. They could do with finding a 3rd down cover guy and having less of the early down guys.
