Well, since Belichick isn’t going anywhere, he better learn to deal with it. He could start by showing up to work. Something most of us have to deal with every day,

If Brady was skipping work your post would make sense. Let me know when he skips something involuntary.

Having Lamar Jackson and Hoyer on the roster right now would make me feel a whole lot better than Hoyer and ettling.

These next ten weeks could be filled with mediots babbling on about this til we all get sick. Not cool!

Him doing something for 17 years in a row and skipping one year does not create a mythical attitude.

Those 17 years were real and he was a huge part of what happened during those 17 years. In fact no one has done more in 17 years than Tom Brady has. So whatever he did or how he did it was not a myth rather it was historically real.

Why not this year? I don't know but I'm not going to build a freaking narrative that negates what that dude has done over the last 17 years.

Come on man.
Luuked already had some sort of thing against Brady and built the narrative of the past 17 years of Brady never having been a team first guy. Basically he selfishly only cares about winning for himself.

In my opinion that position just doesn't make any sense.

So then no Wynn or Sony and the QB position would still look ugly without TB.

Yeah, Lamar Jackson wasn’t the way to go, and certainly not in the first round. Taking it one step further, you knew that there was no way in hell that they’d have used or traded selection #43 for him, because that was the Garoppolo pick.

The only real argument for drafting Jackson may have been if he slipped to the late 40s or early 50s and they moved up to get him, but even then, I don’t know if his skill set would’ve been a good fit for this offense. Not taking a side, just saying that I have no idea what their evaluation of him was.

I'd settle for Luke Falk & Hoyer.
1) There could be something behind the scenes like a reluctance to take another QB while the Brady situation is tumultuous, because Belichick pisses away mid round draft picks like it’s nothing via trades and gambles, and it would seem reasonable that the QB position should have been addressed with any number of mid-late round picks.

2) They simply didn’t feel as though any of the QBs were worthy of a draft pick and found better value with continuously trading down and selecting other positions.

3) They’re somehow higher on Etling than anyone would expect.

Much like you, I’d have felt better with a guy like Falk and Hoyer too, even if there’s a chance that it may have ended up being a false sense of security.

I just find it unbelievable how people are coming down on Brady in this situation. This is not about Guerrero or money. Those are just false narratives planted by “friends of Belichick “ and cultivated by the lazy and foolish members of the Boston 4th estate.

This is about broken trust. The Patriots’ Head Coach no longer is trusted by his best player, his second best player, and most likely a locker room of players who not being “Planet Players” don’t dare join the rebellion.

Four months have nearly passed since the Super Bowl. Nothing has been found. Even the most devout Cult of the Coach worshippers need to give it up. There was no “best interests” reason. There were no drunken punches thrown at assistant coaches or wild parties or missed curfews. Malcolm Butler’s only crime was having the flu and somehow finding himself on Bill Belichick’s bad side.

It was a power play pure and simple. Cleveland Bill could not stand having his control and authority challenged by his owner who stopped his grand QB succession plan. He couldn’t handle it when Jonathan Kraft told the media that “Brady had earned the right to play as long as he wants”. He could not stand it when they would not let him at least look into taking the Giants job and leaked details of his top secret coaching contract showing his annual salary was 25% higher than even Jon Gruden’s salary. Do you think Brady and Gronk have a little reason to be disillusioned learning this after leaving money on the table for the good of the team?

To show his power, Bill Belichick benched one of his 3 best CBs who had also authored one of the great defensive plays in Super Bowl history. He did so in a manner that humiliated the player and caused a huge distraction to his teammates. Bill Belichick’s team lost that Super Bowl. They should have won it.

I may be mad at Bill Belichick, but I do appreciate his great accomplishments as Head Coach of the Patriots. We may disagree as to where the blame falls, but I ask you to appreciate Tom Brady’s great accomplishments as QB as well. They are both mortal men and not Gods.

That’s an interesting take, Kenneth. To be honest with you, I feel as though you may be overthinking things a bit. While there’s no doubt that having Butler in the lineup would’ve increased the odds, there were times last season where Butler’s play wasn’t looking too good and he was either (briefly) benched or there were rumors about the possibility (post-AFCCG news/rumors).

While it probably wasn’t the best choice, there were other key plays in the game that had a lot of weight, such as the dumb decision by Cooks to leap, the missed FG, the horrid tackling of Richards, the inability of the DL to create pressure, and of course, the Brady strip sack to seal the game. I think the Butler benching helped to narrow the margin and it forced them to need to be close to perfect (which they certainly weren’t), but I’m just not sold that it was an evil plan by Bill Belichick that stemmed from his hand being forced to trade away Garoppolo, that’s all.

Off topic—hope things are going well with you.

That was, like, a joke right?
If Darling Danny Etling amounts to anything in this league, those #58 jerseys will be worth something.

Just getting you in on the ground floor, that’s all.

Holy s###...

I prefer to trust in BB than Jordan Richards as a safety and media heating up the atmosphere of apocalypse in the Patriots locker room.

I like this idea that the younger guys are entitled to be mad that Brady isn’t at OTA’s. Like okay master your position for over a decade and a half, become one of five guys to have 3 MVP’s, have the best winning percentage for a player ever, go to the most Super Bowls and win the most, then you can skip OTA’s.

It’s ****ing voluntary and honestly there’s really nothing Brady’s getting out of it.

Sources on BB making 25% more than Gruden and Kraft denying him to speak to the Giants about the HC position please.

Whoah Brother Ken.

I think it's a lot less nefarius than the media and asshats have tried to spin that whole thing into. Sometimes a bad day at the office happens. Sometimes relationships between two people get strained. But I trust that BB, TB, the Krafts and whomever else is involved with the daily "as the Patriots turn" saga will sort things out (whatever those things may be) just in time for another championship run. If not and the Dynasty crashes then it's been a unbelievable 17 year ride. Aside from the drama it looks like we're in for yet another good and hopefully great season.

They do say what I'm claiming they're saying. That's why I posted them. For example, you wrote:

No they don't.

Obviously, if you say that it "probably" won't sink their season, you are also saying that, while you consider it improbable, you think that it might sink their season.

It's called SARCASM, Deus. Pretty sure everyone but you got it.

To say that, for example, Donald doesn't have "remotely the same kind of influence" is just ludicrous on your part. You keep needlessly posting silly things while trying to be serious. Stop doing that.

You can't be serious. You're suggesting that a defensive tackle has the same kind of influence in the shaping of a team as the QUARTERBACK of the team? I don't even know what to say - whether to just laugh or actually explain things.

Hoyer can run the receivers through the plays while participating in a few underwear drills in May.

There's a reason why Brady likes working out with his receivers. It's different building chemistry with Brady vs. Hoyer.
