Unless one also happens to be a Yankee fan. (And really, who isn't a Yankee fan?)

That's like being a fan of Microsoft. Big, boring, soul-less machine, that should win the division every year with the built in advantages they have but somehow manage to lose it more often than they win it.

I thought the fan breakdown is Jete/Mets and Giants/Yankees.

But Jete/Yankees sucks too.

Seriously? Have you seen the team now? Soul-less my @ss.

There are no rules on the breakdown.

I'm also a Devils fan.

Basketball is a joke.

Say that as much as you can. Quickly.

Can't you make yourself useful and help your mom with the laundry or something? Clean up your room, maybe?

Would it surprise you if I said winning isn't goal #1 at the moment?

It could quickly become the top goal, but whatever is best for Sam takes precedence.

Clearly, winning would be best for Sam, because it would keep him on the bench. But we both know we'll see him out there this season, to mollify the fans (and because by halfway thru, the "good options" will be proven non-starters.)

Not to be a topic purist, but you can't tell me that only 29 pages in, we've run out of reasons why the JETE suck?

We've barely scratched the surface. That said, the Jete fan asked a question and I'll be damned if any jeten Jete fan would get to say that we, a higher class of fan, were non responsive bad hosts.

I'm curious why this even is a question.

All fans I know are excited for Sam, but no one is saying there's a need to start him this year at all.

McCown and Teddy (if healthy) are fine. Hell Teddy could be really good.

With that said, I'm with Rich on this one. Just because he doesn't have to play, doesn't mean you stubbornly hold him back. If/when the kid is ready, he plays. I'd rather deal with the inevitable growing pains in 2018 instead of 2019.

@RichCimini: I can make it real simple, Joe: When Darnold is deemed ready by coach Todd Bowles, he will be the starting quarterback. It really doesn't matter how Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater perform in the preseason. They're the supporting actors in this new production; Darnold is the star of the show and it makes no sense to hold him back if he can function in the position.

Based on recent NFL history, I'd say there's a 65 percent chance he will start Week 1. Where did I come up with that number? Of the 17 quarterbacks picked in the top 10 in the 2008 to 2017 drafts, 11 started on opening day. Mitchell Trubisky (fifth game), Blake Bortles (fourth) and Blaine Gabbert (third) were close behind.

Moral of the story: If you're investing that much in a quarterback, don't be afraid to play him as a rookie. It might not be pretty -- only four of the 17 made the playoffs -- but tackling the growing pains is a necessary evil.

There was a time when NY sports teams were in Boston fans' heads. Now, it's the opposite, and you know it.

Ha, there may be a little interest, but then we focus on the important things.. "squirrel!"

Rich Cimini? who the hell is that? Oh wait...isn't he the NY sports guy that graduated from Braindead State?...oh...OK...I thought we talking about actual, cogent discussion rooted in reality. I mean Cimini? The same green sphincter barnacle that breathlessly predicted the Sancheese was "we have OUR Brady!!!" savior last decade? The same Cimini that has tp puke up these god awful nicknames for every Jete that MAY prove out to be better than practice squad? This mutt is practically married to the Jete.

To that I have only this to say to Cimini and the rest of you ignorant, near comatose Jete fans at the wedding. SHE'S a hog and YOU'RE a sucker..signed ...Joe "Blunt Force Trauma" Kerr

Yes, they're going to ruin him eventually, might as well get it over with early. Which makes the signing of Bilgewater totally unnecessary and which puts the chances of winning off for yet another year. But that doesn't matter at all to you and Jete ownership/management.

If the Jete had any sense they would have (1) named McClown the starter for 2018, (2) not signed Bilgewater, (3) not wasted three second-round picks (valuable team-building components) to move up just three places in the draft and would have (4) taken Rosen -- who is BETTER than Darn-it! -- at their original draft slot.

Your team sucks and is screwed.

OK, today is Mother's Day. Clean your room and make her breakfast, something a little nicer than cereal or oatmeal. Maybe get dad or sis to help you scramble some eggs.
