Last week I'm standing in line in DC's Union Station, waiting to catch a train north. Behind me is a guy and his young (4?) son. We start chatting and it turns out they are Jets/Nets/Yankees fans. Oh boy. So the grossly obese, oddly giggling father responds to my Pats' fandom by wrinkling his nose and saying, "We don't like Tom Brady." And it strikes me: NY Jets' fans see this as about the team stars, rather than the team success. As our resident Jets fan says above, they don't care about winning, they care about having someone they can look up to as a QB.

The child seemed like a nice kid, perhaps redeemable. I was not sure what to do in the moment. Clearly this was a case of extreme neglect at a minimum, if not child abuse. Do I grab a police officer to intervene? Call someone in some agency? What does a decent citizen do under these circumstances?

Indeed. Da Jete make mistake after mistake picking a QB and what do they do? They cling to their mistakes! Reference: Hackenburg. Drafted in 2016. Has done literally nothing in two years. If it were the Pats he'd be long gone by now. But this is the Jete. They hang on to a no talent loser that they KNOW they're going to cut just so Macca and Blowes don't have to admit they've made a mistake.
