2013-3-83 - Logan Ryan
2013-3-91 - Duron Harmon
2012-2-48 - Tavon Wilson
2011-2-33 - Ras-I Dowling
2010-1-27 - Devin McCourty
2009-2-34 - Patrick Chung
2009-2-41 - Darius Butler
2008-2-62 - Terrence Wheatley
2007-1-24 - Brandon Meriweather

Real murderers row there. And McCourty had to change positions because of how bad he was playing.

Last time I checked Ryan, Harmon, Chung and McCourty all were good players.

They’ve missed on some and hit on others. Jaire Alexander is the real deal though.

I don’t see him lasting past Green Bay at 14. I mean let’s not kid ourselves - JMAC is not the answer as a number 2 CB.

Even if he is, he’s only a one year answer anyway and Alexander would be here for five. There’s talk of the Packers trading up into the top 10 either for McGlinchey or one of the top DBS like Ward or Fitzpatrick. Wouldn’t rule Alexander out that high though. There may be some injury question marks though.

I get a Matt Slater vibe from DaeSean Hamilton

  • Scouts say he's described as "special" and "unselfish" by everyone around him
  • High-achiever
  • Team captain who takes time to teach younger players
In this job you deal with some really good guys and some not so good guys. He's one of the best”

NFL Draft & Combine Profile - DAESEAN HAMILTON | NFL.com

DaeSean Hamilton and Courtland Sutton have both been described as "the best kids" and both are very good receiver prospects.

I think Alexander could be there at 23. I am hearing Hughes could sneak into the first round.

Would the bills ever trade with us? Number 31 for 56 and 65

While that would be equal value on the trade chart (Bills give 605 for 600), there may be other trade possibilities available that wouldn't drop the Pats so far down in the 2nd round.

From what I’m reading from the Tweets, he was quoting other people using the n word as more of referring to a friendly manner. WHICH is hard to explain as it’s a very sensitive word used in different contexts. (Especially with how the word is spelled)

It was stupid on his part, but I know what I’m reading there. Just a kid who doesn’t realize the connotations of a white individual saying that word.

Granted I understand the media constantly wants to be “white knights” to make themselves look like good people, so Allen will forever be considered racist for a naive remark he made when he was 16.

I'm among the leftmost people on this board, if not the leftmost, and it's a big load of nothing. He was like 15 or 16 and from some rural town in California that's like 98 percent white. I doubt there was a black kid in his high school. If he did it now it would rightfully raise some eyebrows, but who cares about tweets from a high school kid. Even better, he acknowledged them and apologized for them. It's a non-story.

We need OL but isn't he a center? Can he play tackle?

We don’t need to solve ALL our problems in the first round (or even second). People unfortuatnely on this board are going to jump off the ledge if BB does not address LT, LB, CB, etc. with our first four picks. There’s some good value in the later rounds. I mean if Frank Ragnow is heads and shoulders better than David Andrews, why not? Plus this kid has a great story with his dad dying in his junior year.

Why though? Was the OL a problem? This team has needs on defense.

Agree but are you saying that Captain Stone is being Liberal with his Fake News?

Should be picking the best players. Especially for a Belichick team, where a rookie starting is either extremely good or extremely bad news, but should never be counted on. You want options and talent a year down the road, not in September of this year.

Last time I checked Ryan, Harmon, Chung and McCourty all were good players.

Darius Butler has had a good (and long) career as a slot corner in Indy, since leaving the Pats.

After Tavon Wilson left the Pats, he immediately became the starting SS and leading tackler for the Lions.

So, basically, four excellent players for the Pats, two guys who were bad fits, and two high-risk/high-reward picks on guys with first-round talent who fell into the 2nd due to injury concerns - Wheatley and Dowling - who didn't pan out (offset somewhat by Gronk, who's sorta okay).

Cy Jones was mainly drafted as a returner (same reason BB gave for drafting Bethel Johnson in the 2nd, way back when).

That leaves Richards (and recency bias).
