ODB potentially on trade block - Giants want TWO first round picks!

he also bad mouths cooks often.
What does that have to do with his comments on obj?

That last paragraph you just described Kenny Britt....a WR on our team[/QUOTE]
Britt is making peanuts trying to earn a spot. If he acts like a douche he is gone.
Fringe players with attitude issues are a world of difference from expecting to be the highest paid player in the league and gave severe, extreme attitude issues/ personality disorder.
Obj is not a guy who belongs in a healthy lockerroom.
I would gave a hard time naming 3 guys I would want here less than him

He will likely “attempt” to become the highest paid NFL player in NFL history.

....Ain’t happenin’ captain!

No thanks on OBJ. Great talent man....would love to see Brady toss balls his way....BUT salary considerations + distractions (whether his fault or not) outweigh his talent, IMO.

Could you imagine the circus if we brought him to New England.
Before it's even suggested no I wouldn't trade Gronk for him.
However Beckham Cooks Edelman Gronk and gadget player Patterson could you imagine the formations.
If anything, I would think that a Cooks and Beckham swap would be the idea - with the Pats adding in a bit of draft capital

What is your definition of a true WR1?

Wow typed this up once on my phone and lost the tab!

For me, a WR1 is a player with no weakness in their game

Tall
Physical
Fast
Elite hands
Elite route running

Someone that can catch the ball even if they're covered just by out fighting everyone for it

I suppose that's not entirely fair and it should just be based off of production, which Cooks was productive for us.

I feel like he can have trouble getting off jams at the line, teams were playing him more aggressively down the stretch and finding some success.

I also feel like he has to be wide open, if it's a situation where he gets under thrown or is in traffic, he can't fight for the ball as well with his size.. you can see him get completely redirected by DBs often times where it should be a defensive penalty but it's rarely called

I don't thing he's injury prone or anything, and the shot he took in the SB was an unfortunate circumstance, but I can't help but feel squeamish with the idea of giving a player of his stature a mega contract.. he's 24 years old, can his small frame continue to hold up to the violence of the NFL?
Then again, even big physical guys like Calvin Johnson had lots of injury problems throughout their career, so probably not a great argument against Cooks

Not sure what his concussion history is, and not sure on the severity of the one he sustained in the SB... But guys his size in the past have had their careers cut short from big hits and multiple concussions (Jahvid Best comes to mind)

At the end of the day I like Cooks and would love for him to stay, but I just feel he's more of a complimentary #2 than a true bonified #1, and I'd be hesitant to pay him a massive contract with a lot of guarantees

Ps. Nearly lost this entire post again, but luckily the back button worked and what i types was still populated

Dudes out here breaking records with Eli ****ing Manning at qb and getting double teamed . Y’all crazy talking about you wouldn’t trade for him

No matter what anyone says on this forum...They would love seeing Brady complete touchdown passes to Beckham in big moments

Difference Maker

Lol Eli QBRating with OBJ: 91.5% without OBJ: 75%

25 years old runs every route in the book

For all we know Gronk retires next year having Odell going forward would be huge for Brady and the next qb

But but but but but he’s a diva !!!!

Belichick only trades for choir boys

I will throw this out there:

Would you trade Cooks and the late 2nd for him? Or perhaps the 3rd rounder..

OF course. And I’m a huge cooks fan. But odell is a first ballot hall of fame talent

He can run every route in the tree, has the best hands I have ever seen, has incredible speed and athleticism..he can beat any type of coverage, he’s great at catching in traffic

He’s got a highly questionable attitude but so did moss when he played in Oakland. Some high profile players might love the culture here in New England of winning.

No. We know what we have in Cooks. He may not be OBJ but hes pretty damn good.

Now...I would trade Cooks to CLE for Josh Gordon and a 2nd or a 3rd.

I think I’d be more inclined to do it if Gronk left for whatever reason. I like our weapons as they stand, but do not like them minus Gronk.

I’d love Odell in this offense, but we won’t win another SB unless we shore up the defense.

I don’t think Cleveland has a 3rd anymore. And I doubt they’d give us a 2nd and Gordon.

Gronk, ODB and Johnny Football: if nothing else, it'd give a real boost to Boston nightlife and many a young woman's college tuition would get paid.

Not if he actually plans to hold out. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s going to cost ~$50 million guaranteed to get him on the field then he has zero trade value.

You are right.

Not sure what the new GM thinks of Gordon.

This is what they have.

1st round: 1, 4 (from Houston)

2nd round: 33, 35 (from Houston), 64 (from Philadelphia)

3rd round: No picks

4th round: 114 (from Green Bay)

Cooks has higher value than Gordon, but not that much higher.

What records is he breaking and how much winning is happening?

What non-QBs would you (or BB) even pay 20 million per year?

Aaron Donald - might go down as the best DT of all time

Von Miller - HOF pass rusher, great edge setter/run defender & can cover RBs out of the backfield

J.J. Watt pre-injuries

I think BB only considers Miller. Bless the NFL team that pays a diva WR $20 million a season.
