Jets Suck -- 2018 Edition (Official): Fifty Fabulous Years of Futility!

I think you guys are missing the genius here.

One possibility of how this works out...
1. McCown helps the rookie learn and is ready to play if Bridgewater gets hurt, and while/if the rookie isn't ready.
2. Bridgewater plays if healthy enough (unless the rookie is killing it).
3. If Bridgewater does well, he becomes a younger version of Cousins. Aka, a legit starter on the market. In his mid-20s!
4. Jets could then determine whether or not to keep him. If new QB sucks, keep Bridgewater. Otherwise franchise him and trade him for a massive pay day. (Bigger than 3 2nd rounders.)

Macc is a genius. :D
The stupid. It hurts.

It's a pretty unique, admittedly strange situation.
Ya think? Fifty years without a championship of any kind, still waiting for that first NFL title. Yes, that qualifies.

An established vet who played well last year making decent money. A hot shot rookie. And a young guy with plenty of potential recovering from a sick injury.
You have know way of knowing if your prospective rookie savior will, indeed, be a "hotshot."

I'd say Bridgewater has the best odds of starting now.
Based on what? McClown is the incumbent starter. Why do you continue to disrespect McClown? You don't deserve him.

Yet the Jets have two other legit options if Bridgewater doesn't pan out.
Yes, McClown. Pity and Quackenbush also are available.

31 teams could take the players the Rats have, the cap space and the picks they HAD and build a team that goes deep in the post season. There is only ONE team that cannot.

and now... a little trip down memory lane

No, it’s good. The Jets have the makings of a tremendous season.

Whoever starts will suck. Book it. Blowes and Maccadam will panic, in goes another cog. Once eliminated, in goes the rook, with a sad checked-out offensive line. They’re phoning it in, and the only number they know is 911.

Probably could insert a fired OC in there as well.

And to add to the laughter, their inability to tank correctly is biting them in the ass: all they had to do is lose one more game and they could have kept those three 2nd rounders!

Ref: Colts-Jets trade proves the value of tanking

Let's hope McKown and Teddy B lead them to another five wins this year!

If they had committed to starting Petty or let Hackenburg actually suit up and play, they could have completed their plan to tank the season (cutting Mangold, Revis, Brandon Marshall, etc.) Instead, they went with McCown, the one QB on their roster who actually showed flashes of competence, and he responded with the best season of his career.

The Jets are so bad, they couldn't even do the one thing they are good at, losing games, correctly. They had to trade away 3 second round picks to correct that mistake.

It’s here! It’s now! Football fans will witness history in the annals of New Jersey football this season as the Jete complete 50 years – a full half-century – without a championship of any kind. That is, if you are willing to consider Super Bowl III a bona fide championship game and not simply a post-season exhibition tilt between teams from the now long-defunct American Football League and National Football League. Suffice to say that the Green Beans never have won an NFL title and perhaps never will.

Why is this? Many reasons, including clueless ownership, incompetent front-office management, poor coaching and inferior players. But perhaps the biggest reason of all is BAD KARMA. The Green Beans and their fan base occupy a black hole of negativity that even the brightest minds of science, industry and theology have been unable to quantify. While no one knows the root cause or the cure, we certainly can identify its endless manifestations, a few of which are itemized below.

Death. Taxes. Another year of Jets suckage. Like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west, some things never change. The hallowed tradition of this thread might be seen by many as mere diversion, an ephemeral source of transitory amusement. Yet, the veterans here realize its role as a vital public service -- informing and enlightening those otherwise oblivious to that morbid franchise's scurrilous, soulless transgressions against the Patriots, mankind at large, and all that is true and good. Our pledge is to keep the beacon of righteousness forever trained laser-like on East Rutherford's green slimy scourge. More than 3,000 posts in last year's thread evince the importance of this.

We MUST remain vigilant, as the New Jersey Green Beans continue their scheming ways and underhanded shenanigans perpetrated by unprincipled owner/certified greedy dope Woody Johnson, who now oversees the continuing trainwreck of his franchise from the chair of U.S. ambassador to Britain. (It is unknown at this early stage how much the U.K. presence of Goofy Woody has harmed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's overseas expansion plans.)

It's safe to say that not even Old Sad Joe thought the suckage would be this pathetically perennial. But here he is, pondering those good ol' days slipping further into the recesses of fading memory ...

... Even memories of chasing hot chicks who would kiss back have faded like tail lights in the distance ...

But for the Jete FANS, the majority of whom were born well after Joe's notable exploits, memories are not worth savoring. That's one reason for the ongoing existence this thread, to chronicle Jete suckage as a matter of historical record.

For the uninitiated, here is a partial historical recap of the Green Beans’ violations and gaffes, in no particular order:

More to come … please chime in with your own border-war lowlights.

Remember, folks: "Jets Suck" is not simply about them sucking on the field of play. That almost is peripheral to the true essence of Green Beans suckage, as bad as they can be between those white lines. They suck first and foremost as an organization devoid of scruples, integrity, honesty, proper hygiene or other remotely redeeming qualities.

Again, we cannot forget Jets fans. Few words do them justice. We'll sum it up thusly via these sad victims seen at New Giants Stadium pondering last season's failed tanking (left to right): Skippy, Vinny, Numbnuts and Rocco.

It really has been a half century. Wow! That sucks for the Jete and their 'fans'.

McClown was the most disrespected quarterback in the league last year by his own team's fans. The guy played his heart out and all the moronic Jete fan base could think about was their off-season fantasy of drafting a rookie savior. It's like having an average-looking but fiercely dedicated, hard-working wife and ignoring her because you want an imaginary hot young babe.

Thanks, Tunez, for kicking off another year of capturing the futility of the Jete!

SOFJ are in for another year of misery!

All the good QBs are gone.

Jete bottom feeding with another year of McKown and maybe a contract thrown at Bridgewater.

Yet still enough QB hungry teams ahead of them in the draft.

Jete response: Let's throw $15M a year at a CB!

Boy, that sucks. Glad I'm not a Jete fan.

Man, that sucks.

The jete, the gift that keeps on giving. The jest aren't a football team they're a real life Reality show about a dysfunctional oganization that has the reverse midus touch. Everyone and everything that comes into contact with the jete turns to ****.

That must suck.

Yup. Said it all season long last year. Was infuriating.

Unbelievably, the Jete have 24 (!) DIFFERENT PRICE LEVELS for season tickets! Paying to get kicked in the balls 10 times a year never was more complicated. But now, with newly REDUCED PRICING, Jersey hillbillies can pay as little as $600 each for a full season's worth of self-inflicted abuse. Amazing.

Huh, for a moment I thought TB was doing some research on what it’s like to be a Jete.
