it needs to be put into perspective....

2018 cap : $178M
9ers rollover cap: $59.5M
9ers Adjusted cap: $237.5M
total top 51 contracts: $120M
total cap space $117M

the simply are not hamstrung in any way

Brady gets 14 mill. And guess who jimmy runs into in the bowl? Ivan, I know your a brady fan the likes of myself and die Harders what do you think? Why is an untested q.b making obscene money?

My take is brady don’t want that much money, he wants more players
It helps that Tom does not need any money, due to his very rich wife.

Wow, that is some serious ****ing money. I wish him all the best, the 49ers must have loved everything they saw after trading for him.

He needs to get at least one Super Bowl and one MVP to justify that money.

It's ever so slightly more than what Matt Stafford got, and Stafford will never be a serious MVP candidate and has yet to win a playoff game. I think this is just the market for any QB who a team feels is a franchise guy now.

This really sets up a bit of a Brady conundrum, with how he gets paid on his extension.

I doubt it. Brady has shown in the past he's not interested in money. He's interested in Superbowl jewelry....

Not looking forward to the day we have to pay a QB this amount of money to keep him. Yet another reason to not take Brady for granted and enjoy not only his play, but willingness to work on his contract to help the team with cap.

Schefter said it's not officially done yet.

It's all crystal clear now! Garoppolo was working behind the scenes with the ball guys and with clandestine contacts with Indy to mastermind framing Brady to get Brady suspended so that Jimmy would have a chance to start and cash in on it! It's all so clear now...

;)

Wow... Lynch is building something that could be awesome there.

So clearly we wouldn't keep him, but damn......how the hell did we not get more than a 2nd?

Meanwhile, Brady will be making half that annual salary several years from now while winning his 7th Super Bowl. :)

Happy for Jimmy G taking in all that Niners money.

Now the Niners are paying a guy that kind of money, who has never played a full season as a starter, has never played in a pressure playoff game, and 31 other DC's are is the process of trying to figure out his flaws (if any), now that they have film.

So my question to those at the Niers front office is, are you nuts?

Wow, they have that much cap space? Their D started playing well at the end as well. I wonder if Butler ends up there.

$27.5 million average per year. Holy cow that's a lot of money.

Jimmy gets awarded almost 20 mill per career start.

Good for him $137.5 for 5 years is the highest ever. I hope he does well.

Not sure what you are building by paying 27 mill a year to a green qb and making him the highest paid player in the nfl.
