While I'm not saying we should hire or not hire him based off on testimony that Penn state situation bothers me.

"In 2016, a Philadelphia court released documents in relation to the Penn State child sex abuse scandal revealing testimony from Mike McQueary stating that Schiano was aware of the abuse by fellow assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.[21] In his testimony, McQueary claimed "only that he had — I can’t remember if it was one night or one morning — but that Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower. And that’s it. That’s all he ever told me.”[21] Schiano denied having knowledge of the abuse.[21]"

I mean that hardly sounds like rock solid testimony but if he knew and did nothing I would certain have an issue hiring him. Of course this is a he said, he said situation but it is a question which must be asked.

I thought we have been through this BS smear campaign a few weeks back when we talked about how he got screwed on that HC position. There is nothing to it..

He seems like he is so well rounded on both sides of the game and overcame alot to get the opportunity he has in front of him.
He could be a possible heir to BB with the Belichick kids in coordinator positions.
That may be best case scenario I want to see some innovators at OC can someone please sell me on O'Shea.
Vs going after Deflippo or some young college coaches.
Continuity. Your love of defilippo confuses me.

It is a 3rd hand story denied by the 2nd hand person. It’s bull crap.

I just feel we have benefited from such a dynamic offense I don't want to see that end.
If O'Shea was the man their would of been teams interviewing him for something.

If you're asking me 'gun to my head do i believe Schiano knew about the Penn State situation then I would tell you my opinion is he did not. That doesn't mean BB should not ask about it and do his own research and that me as a fan being concerned in completely unfounded.

Schiano coaching assistant or defensive assistant or I'll say it again special teams coach with Ventrone staying as a assistant

This makes much more sense.

O’Shea has never had the opportunity to show himself. And the dynamic offense is the Patriots offense, with Brady running it and everyone on the same page, throwing all of that out to try a new system and coordinator out is crazy,

I agree, If Schiano saw that and didn’t report it then you can’t hire him. The Patriots definitely have to investigate that, and if they don’t then it’s unforgivable.

I think Flores is going to be a very good dc for us.

Because no matter how you dice it or how you slice it; it is still bb’s defense and bb is never going to turn the reins over 100 percent to anybody. Anybody that thinks Patricia has 100 percent control of our defense is kidding himself.

I think that as long as Brady is running our offense, we will never truly know how good an oc o’shea is? Because Brady is so good at getting us out of bad plays and into good plays.

That doesn’t make sense.

He is part of the staff that is doing what we are doing and will continue the same system.
Why bring in someone and have to teach him
the patriot offense?

No they don’t have to investigate it because it’s bs.
It’s a third hand story already refuted by the second hand.

McQueary claimed that he heard the story from another assistant (Bradley). Bradley denied making the claim, and Schiano denied the incident.

Here's a statement from a PSU trustee

Flores was already looking to jump ship for a HC job elsewhere. There's nothing wrong with that, but it does mean that you can't count on him being more than a one-and-done DC. That's not exactly optimal. Schiano, if the interest is real, could either take the job, or take some other title and get familiar with things in case Flores makes the jump to HC next year.
You're reading too much into it. Flores interviewed with the Cardinals, that is not the same as saying he was planning to jump ship. Lots of Pats coaches have interviewed elsewhere and ended up staying in Foxboro for years afterward. Thing is, interviewing for a job is a good learning experience, so not interviewing would be choosing to purposely stunt his career development.

The fact that he is on other team's radar as a HC makes it tough to think we can count on him to be here for 3-4 years.

I don't think we need another Mangini situation.

Dunning-Kruger in full flower.

I could point to the one year stint of Vrabel in Houston.
I could point to the one year stint of Mangini in New England.
I could point to the various media stories on the subject of Flores being a potential HC to watch.

Or I could just note that nothing I said meant Flores couldn't stay longer than year, and that all I said was that it meant you couldn't count on him not being a one-and-done.

But I'm sure that you and Mr. Flores spend a lot of time together, and engage in the sort of close, candid conversations where he gives you the inside scoop on his thoughts about becoming a head coach.

It’s a third hand story already refuted by the second hand.

And given the nature of the scandal they still have to look into it.
