By what measure are we saying the Vikings had "the best D in the league"? Have you seen the teams the Vikings played this year? The softness of that schedule would make even a mediocre defense look like the 85 Bears.

Points allowed per game.

More good stuff from Light.

On how Ertz will likely be defended (bracketed):

The Vikings IMO had the best D in the league. However that best D played it's worst game of the year against the Eagles particularly in the secondary. That is really all there is to it.

Which is why you have to put it in context. Beating Green Bay twice this season is less impressive when you consider Rodgers was hurt early in their 1st meeting and didn't play in the 2nd game.

People said this about the Pats' defense last year.

The Vikings easily had a top 2 defense this year. They had guys injured for the NFCCG and it was just an all around off-game.

Am I the only one worried about our run defense? Especially against the versatility of Philly's backs?

What versatility ?

They have no real receiving back on their active roster. Ajayi and Blount are both liabilities in pass protection. Their running game is pretty one dimensional.

Patriots need to pressure Nick Foles

“Foles checks down the ball a lot more than Carson Wentz did, with 50.6% of his yards gained through the air versus 63.9% for Wentz. “

When facing no pressure, Foles (107.8) had a nearly equal passer rating to Wentz (110.3) this year,” PFF writes. “When under pressure, Foles (23.8) had the worst passer rating in the NFL. Wentz’s rating under pressure was 81.7 — fourth-best.”

“Brady leads the league a passer rating of 96.6 when under pressure.”

PFF shares 52 stats for the Super Bowl, including why Danny Amendola is the Patriots most clutch receiver on third down

Agreed. Flowers on Clement. When they sub in Clement, it's going to him. When Blount is subbed in, watch for playaction.

Yes, this isn't going to be a "rush 3 and keep him in the pocket" game at all. This season the Pats have typically waited until later in the game to release the dogs, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some early aggressiveness on defensive play calling.

Not if they're smart and show case Smallwood or Clement more than they have in the post season thus far.

The big guys don't scare me as the Patriots always seem to do well against those guys. The little guys do scare me. And Clement is little, shifty and fast.
