I can't find it in print, and I can't recall the wording well enough to transcribe it, but Curran had a comment that threw some cold water on this.

Basically, it was along the lines of someone saying something along the lines of

"This could be anything from the most minor of injuries to something serious, with major ligament damage and the like"

followed by Curran saying something like "I've been told that it's a hell of a lot closer to the latter".

If anyone can find that, it's definitely something that should be in this thread.

So Curran has been told it's closer to major ligament damage and he only mentioned it in a response to someone. Find it very odd that a beat guy would get told something that clearly no one else has been told and he only brings it up in response to someone's hypothetical......

Brady will play. But going up against elite defenses any slip in his ability to throw is going to be a big problem.

Well it will be a tight window. The throws have to be on point. I really hope we establish the running game.

It's very hard to take a medical opinion seriously if the doctor offering it hasn't examined the patient or reviewed the records.

Chao has been right more often than not. He inmediately diagnosed the edelman ACL tear and hightower injury and people here didn’t want to believe him.

Yeah, I wouldn't read anything either way into Belichick's press conference. It's not like he would be offering up good news if he had it. I'm not necessarily optimistic here, it's definitely a hell of a curveball, but Belichick is just doing what Belichick does.

Although I guess I am a bit optimistic, because the line moving 2 points on this news prompted me to load up on the Pats.
I think the Pats are still going to win handily. Not exactly sure why I feel that way but I do. Maybe we somehow get angry Brady or chip on his shoulder Brady (as long as he can throw though)

Surprised no reporter has compiled a game log of games Brady has played wearing a glove because this may be one of those.

I get that feeling too like the game won’t be close even

God forbid Hoyer play and they win. “See, he is just a system QB”.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet. This doctor is a great follow on Twitter if you didn't know already. His speculation is that Brady will most likely be ok.

If its a dislocated thumb i don't think the situation is that bad, ive had a few of them (albeit when i was a kid) and it was popped back into place and was a little sore fo a couple of days.

Dion Lewis asked if he was the player who injured Brady's hand: "Not me! No, it wasn't me." He added: "It's Tom so regardless of any situation he's put in, he's going to make sure he's out there game day. Nobody's really worried."

I wonder how the jags will play this. Would they risk stacking the box to stop the running game? I am sure they will wait and see how brady's throws look at first.

If Brady plays and the Pats win, I can GUARATEE you one thing: ESPN with a post-game news bite: Sources confirm "The Pats tried to circumvent and f**k around with the Jags by sending them goose-chasing with that 'fake' injury."

Book it now: #HandGate

Yeah, a dislocated thumb in of itself wouldn't be a big deal. If it's accompanied by ligament damage, that could quickly become significant.

Don't think this has anything to do with Brady, but who knows.

As a kid I went to the ER after a nasty collision playing hockey. Shin hurt like crazy, and the doctor (in person) said it doesn't seem like a break to me. Probably just a bruise. Then came back with the x-rays and was like, "Well, your ankle is cracked and there's a spiral fracture stretching halfway up your tibia." So sometimes even when they're there, can see and play around with the injury, and can ask the patient direct questions, it's still a crap shoot until you get actual tests done.

His x-rays came back negative.
