I've locked the other thread as it went off topic. So please keep post relevant news, updates etc. here. Moving forward into this weekend.

So is this something to really worry about? I've been out of the football loop for a few days and am only getting bits and pieces.

Can we still have some kind of mega thread for that? Otherwise the Brady discussion will end up in a bunch of other threads hijacking them.

No and the bits and pieces you are getting are sheer speculation by the media.

All we know is he injured his hand in practice. Type of injury, severity and where on the hand are unconfirmed.

And the media thinks when they get TB in a press conference they’ll get solid information from him. That’s funny as I’m sure we know he’ll be saying something along the lines that this isn’t the first time he’s been injured and he’ll be ready to go.

Brady's toughness does not concern me, his lack of practice this week does.. although anecdotal it seems as though every time this year after Brady missed practice he seemed to have struggled in the following week's game...

My concern is not being able to participate in the game planning and prep...

Depends on how much of a worrier you are, I suppose. He canceled his pressers two days in a row, presumably to receive extra treatment but also possibly to mask the swelling of the hand from public sight. It was reported that it could’ve been a bone that pierced its way through the skin, and there has been some chatter from one or two stray sources about a cut of some sort. It’s possible the two may go together.

Personally, I am a bit concerned considering the need for an X-ray. That alone freaks me out a bit, as does the fact that we saw what appeared to be some bulk at the dreaded thumb area (couldn’t have been any other finger, right?) under his glove yesterday. He also was a DNP after being a limited participant, which was the first Thursday he’s missed all year. Since it’s championship week and Brady is missing practice (and was limited after the injury Wednesday), I think that’s reason enough to have a little worry about how hampered he’s going to be. I doubt he’s going to miss the game of course, but we’ve also seen instances where he played through injury and was not as effective, like in the ‘07 AFCCG and subsequent SB. Also, possibly down the stretch this season, depending on what you choose to believe. Of course, we’ve also seen instances where he was hobbled but played just fine too, but the injury to the throwing hand itself is a bit different in my opinion. It seems like it at least has the potential to be an issue. We’ll know a bit more after practice and his presser, today.

That concern is legit. Tom has said 1000s of times he needs reps to stay sharp. I believe him.

They will get nothing and like it.

I think the hope may be to finally get a glimpse of the hand itself, although who knows if that will happen or not. He may have it bandaged.

I looked at those thumb pictures and it didn't seem overly bulky. I could be wrong.

Sometimes speculation is fun but when it comes to injuries it's just not worth getting all worked up imo.

We won't know if it bothers him until Sunday.

When he goes 27-42 297 yds and 3Tds we'll have our answer.

David Andrews was great yesterday. They asked him if Brady took any snaps at practice, and he said, "I snap it to all the quarterbacks, whoever is back there."

My guess is that David Andrews knows exactly who has their hands on his ass at all times.

Apparently Brady was at the Dedham Hospital on Wednesday getting 12 stitches in his hand.

A caller on the touch & Rich Show said his friend works at the Dedham Hospital

Bloody thumb game, He will play with no thumb, not worried . Any sport I played with some sort of injury, played better, seemed to concentrate more, and maybe played within my limitations better . Had my best kickball game ever !! :D

I once sprained the thumb on my throwing hand during bowing league season. I played that Friday night anyway. Only lowered my average by 3 pins, from 101 to 98.
