Forget the fact that they blew two chances to put that game away, the second when he cowardly ran the ball 3 times.

They lost their last 3 games of the season, 2 to non-playoff teams. They could very easily be hosting that game if they took care of business, but they didn't.

It makes me very happy to know this still bothers him over a decade later. I hope it consumes him with rage and he loses his mind on every mundane call next time we play them.

Next time Pats are guaranteed to face them is 2020. Gruden has a lot of work to do to face them before then...

...or the Pats have a lot of falling to do.

Regards,
Chris

this will be an enormous disaster. rich mckay had a loaded team waiting for him in 2002, but gruden does not get that you can’t build teams with pricey veterans. that is why that old raiders team in 2001 wasn’t built all hat well and were past their primes.

gruden was a .500 coach who is overrated. he just generated a cult following due to his likeability, energy and chucky face.

Just playing to his audience, like the media person he is. One or two season like the last one and he will be back on TV before he gets to play a single hand in Vegas.

I like Gruden I think he is instantly a top 5 coach he has alot of knowledge passion and energy guys want to play for him.

The Raiders have alot of excitement rightfully so with him being back. In any level of Football other than the NFL Brady did fumble.

But the way the rule is written he didn't.

I have zero issue with Gruden being upset that as soon as that game ended he was traded to Tampa Bay and then got to beat his old team in the Superbowl.

Gruden is a special coach and the Raiders will be a team to fear especially when we are Brady or Belichickless.

And they made it to the Super Bowl the following year and lost to Tampa Bay. The Raiders had their shots and didn't do it.

He's such a tease. That'll be his default response next season

someone needs to remind jon “overrated” gruden that his 250 fb, zack crockett, had a 2nd and 3 and 3rd and 1, and he was pretty much stoned twice by the pats d line. that would have iced the game....fail

He was smiling and talking to Charles Woodson who asked a question to be funny. Woodson asked if he had a no trade clause in his contract. It was tongue and cheek. And regardless if we were on the other side of that call we would all feel the same way.

A lot of us still ***** about face guarding in the 2006 AFCCG bad call but not the sole reason we lost, we conveniently forget how big of a lead we had, Caldwell dropping a ball that hit his hands in stride on the 2 etc....its human nature.

Not a good sign for the Raiders that the next coach would be focused on this.

Edit: NM now that I see the context above.

They were 9-7 in 2001. Thats is not loaded. 2002: 12-4 SB Champ

Hes 95-81, 5-4 in the playoffs and a SB Champ and built another contender in OAK.

You sell his legacy waaaaay short.

He didn’t build anything.

That afc west at the time was horrendous and they were the best of the lot. The team had hall of famers all over it, but as per usual al davis thought he had all the answers buying other teams castoffs likes it was 1980, so he had a mediocre team as a result, hence why they were 9-7 that year. They lost to denver that year and dropped another win as well that year to an inferior opponent. It is his job to make sure his team is not ****y and arrogant, which they were. They walked into the old foxboro stadium with their noses up which is the same pattern all those supposed superior teams had in those days.

He then skipped town and walked into another situation with even more hall of famers waiting for him to coach a team that awful dungy could not get over the top.

And winning 1 sb because you had all of gannon’s signals, does not mean he has a “legacy”.

Also, this creepy infatuation that davis and gruden have for another is just that: creepy

I will say gruden’s $10 dollar haircut is better than davis’s self taught bowl cut.

I don't understand Davis's hairstyle at all. With his many millions you'd think he could get scalp surgery or whatever might be needed to look like a genuine adult. But then, the same applies to that cretin in the White House.

Mark Davis looks like a child molestor. Who walks into a barbershop and says “give me the molestor look!”..?

I can't think of Gruden without thinking of this clip :D

Does he have a Belichick in front of Belichick? Might need to up his insurance and do it from inside a shark cage.
