What QB(s) would you like to see the Pats draft?

There's a YouTube channel called "The Film Room." The guy who does it just analyzed Garoppolo. He noted that Garoppolo can get the ball out so fast that he can complete passes even when a DB knows where the ball is going before he starts to throw.
thats what made garoppolo special......quickness

he is not very big for a QB.....small hands.....kinda short arms

decent arm.....decent mobility......but not aaron rodgers on either count

but his release is as fast as anyone ever.....and he seems to process the play fast

and he is accurate

Jackson's WR'S must not like him??

Teams, Coaches adjust but Kyle isn't even through half his playbook. I'd guess about 1/3 rn.

He's getting the ball out under 2.5

I truly believe Lamar Jackson will be a special player in the NFL. He's only 20, so if he sat behind Brady for two years he'd be a starter at 22-23 ready for the physical and mental aspect of the game. You can't teach 1500 rushing yds in a season. I think he goes through his progressions well and will only get better with the mentorship of the GOAT.

He needs to go back to school. I don't like what i saw today.

i was talking about the precise qb rating for the last 4 games

deus got it wrong......you agreed that my numbers were correct......i presume you still do

whether he got them wrong by mistake or purpose......who knows

the larger point about bradys play is a different issue
I agree that your numbers are correct. I’m just saying that I highly doubt that his intention was to hoodwink you. I think it was to add some context, that’s all.

At any rate, opinions can differ. We’ll see how Brady responds after the bye week in the postseason.

Are there any pudgy, slow QBs with good leadership skills being forced to split time with the boosters' favorite?
Did you just describe Rohan Davey??

No disrespect to O.P. but this should the "surrounding Brady with young/college talent" thread.

If Tom is here 3-4 more years the QB of the future might not be here until 2019-2020.

Let's build a monster defense to complement him.

I like a lot as well. He doesn't do anything flashy but he has plenty to work with.

W/out a doubt one of prob 20 prospects that goes through at least 2 Or more reads several times a game. Good arm. Accurate on 3 levels. Good size.

Should be noted

A college kid bought beer?!? Oh, no! Don't pick him! If kids stopped buying beer in college the American economy would collapse and there would be no ads on TV. That said, he's a stiff.

If Lamar Jackson is on the board when the Patriots use the 9ers pick in the second round, they should absolutely grab him. He's Michael Vick without the dogs. He scorched Carolina this year accounting for six TDs and over 525 combined yards.

It shows you USC's far from competing with the likes of OSU or Alabama. If he goes back he might get exposed more. He's still a top 10 talent. He should go this year. There's no way he falls to the second round.
I’m sure you’re right that he’ll choose to come out this year, but I believe that he was responsible for somewhere around 25 turnovers this season. That’s nuts.

Seeing how poorly he played against a team that could be considered somewhat “pro-ready” like Ohio State makes me believe that he has a lot more work to do. He made some absolutely terrible decisions in games this year, particularly last night.

I could see some pro scouts and coaches choosing to go in a different direction, knocking him down into the 20s.

If he falls in the 20s I would hope bill tries to trade up for him. He will be 21 next year.

Matt is a gem and always worth listening too. Primarily breakdown offensive players.

Where is Lamer Jackson projected to go

I've never replied to my own post before, but in this case I have to blast my post for being premature. Lamar Jackson threw INTs in his final college football game, giving away a bowl game win to Mississippi State. The good news is that he probably cost himself a round or two in the draft and a lot of money. He could be a great pick in the 3rd or 4th round of the 2018 draft. He needs NFL grown up QB coaching. I think it woud be fun to see Belichick and McDaniels coach a run option NFL offense with a QB like Jackson. They clearly have mastered the drop back QB offense. A new road could be interesting to them and explosive for the Pats.

I've seen him anywhere from 1st overall to late 2nd in mock drafts, but I get the impression he'll go by the teens or early 20s.

He's regressed from 2016. I suspect he'll be there mid-2nd round.

Lamar Jackson might fall a bit, especially after a rather bad Bowl Game. Honestly, this year's draft class for QBs is really screwed up so you have no idea where all of the top QBs would fall. If Jackson does fall to us, it would be really interesting to see how much he could develop in the wings. He's only 20 and I think that with the proper development he has greater potential than Jimmy G.

If Jimmy is really so great, and the "Next Great Thing" why was he available for Pats in the second round? (late second too I think)

I think part of why Jimmy is great is because he was here with Brady, Belichick, and McDaniels for 3 plus years. He is excellent, but that helped.

Which gives me hope that we could replicate it with another good QB selection in 2nd or 3rd round.

If Brady is really so great, why was he available to the Pats in the sixth round?

Dumbass.
