So Tom is not allowed to havd a bad game anymore??????
3 articles written the day I made the statement. I guess my crime is having a job so that I am not up to the minute on media speculation.
He has lost them because the criteria is based very heavily on pretty stats. This year he also has the pretty stats. The Brown for MVP chatter really started Sunday night - the announcers spoke about it repeatedly. The Steelers have won four games in a row by the skin of their teeth and on the hands of Brown.
He should be mentioned.
And unless there's a meltdown coming, which I don't see for a moment, Brady should be the MVP. Every year, the league finds a reason to give it to someone else. He should have 4 or 5 of them in his trophy case already.

Look they talked up Wentz who was never going to win because they needed someone to talk up. Now that he is hurt they needed someone else so they found brown. Just because he is the flavor of the week doesn’t mean he could win.
Total agreement, except I can’t say I love any non patriot. It’s either patriot or enemyI don't disagree at all with this observation.
That said, it's good for the league and other fanbases to talk up people like Brown, so they will.
And as I said, unless Brady simply ****s the bed, which wold be unbelievably out of character/history, I don't see this year's MVP vote even remotely close - and I didn't, even before Wentz got hurt.
ps. I'd like to see Brees get a few votes, though. I love Brees, but that's just me.
Agree. There are some games and situations where you have to take the risk of an int. Brady has always been willing to do that which is why he has such ridiculous comebacks and records with 50+ passes etc.The interceptable passes had everything to do with Brady not having weapons and the offense not having a good game, so he went long and got intercepted. Big deal.
The last thing I want is Brady worrying about his interception tally when he determines what he needs to do to win the game.
True - this is not a fan vote however the writers live in different regions too.Mvp voters have never exhibited this.
They certainly have exhibited an over reliance on stats but Brady is the best stat-wise as well this year.
It’s not a fan vote.
Combine that with 2 mediocre-to-poor performances along with Brown absolutely going off like a madman over the last 4 games (40 catches/600 yds/6 TDs), and it isn’t difficult to see how the “consensus” (clear cut or otherwise ) may have dwindled a bit, making the race closer with a big showdown approaching on Sunday.
Just to be clear, that's consistent with Fahey's analysis. Fahey said Brady was great at the start of 2016 but then, particularly late in the season, threw more interceptable passes. Had Brady been rested at the start of the season like I recommended, he'd be playing MVP level going in the playoffs, which is what we want.
But the bias you are talking about is fans.True - this is not a fan vote however the writers live in different regions too.
No one is suggesting that you should be looked down upon for not having the up to the minute info, but we were discussing other MVP candidates so that’s how it came up. You stated that there weren’t really any other candidates and that Brady would pretty much be a unanimous decision. I don’t think that’s the case. Actually, I don’t ever think that was the case at any point in time because you had a lot of votes for Wentz, too.3 articles written the day I made the statement. Wentz would have received many second place votes and possibly a couple firsts.I don’t think that’s the case. Actually, I don’t ever think that was the case at any point in time because you had a lot of votes for Wentz, too.
As was posted earlier he was 33:1.Also, Antonio Brown has had 637 yards, 6 TDs and 39 catches over the past month, bringing his total to 99 catches and 1,509 yards on the season. He didn’t just come out of nowhere prior to any article being written on Sunday.
Vegas disagrees with you
According to Bovada LV, Brady currently is a heavy favorite at 5/8. Antonio Brown and Russell Wilson are next at 6/1
