This game basically hinged on two underthrow by Brady that were intercepted. He makes those two throws, it' a different game.

Cannot expect that patchwork defense to hold up. Offense was terrible, Brady specifically.

Pitt is going to use the same game plan on both sides of the ball.

Better figure it out soon.

best Pat performance of the night?

Harmon's 3Q speech . no points allowed after

After that speech, the 'Fins punted five times on drives of 5, 4, 17, 2 & 16 yards, never getting beyond their own 45.

Unfortunately, those drives also bled 10:30 off the game clock, during which time the 'Fins defense held the Pats to 10 points on two drives and forced the Pats to punt four times on "drives" of 18, 0, 6, & -1 yards.

I agree with you that last night's game must have given PIT some ideas. They already feature a heavy run game and split Bell out wide at times. Lots of RB screens. He’s had 9 or more catches in 3/4 past games.

They’ll likely take a lot from the defensive gameplan, as well. Cover-1, lots of flooding the middle, and they have a very strong front 7 to apply pressure.

I don’t care what some of the “experts” here say about the away game streak being meaningless, as they’re often wrong anyway. They were tired by BB’s own admission coming back from Mexico, then began another 3 game road streak where they looked completely lost and out of sorts in every way last night. Let’s see whether or not they’re able to bounce back for the 5th away game in 6 weeks and 3rd in a row. That right there is my biggest concern.

If a BB-coached team cannot figure out the identical approach for eight quarters, I'd be surprised.

I think the Squealers will have an extra wrinkle or two, one of them named Leveon Bell, the other Antonio Brown. And by the way, does anybody think that Rothlisberger isn't playing his best ball of the season?

Now, all of those frightening things said, we will be Gronkless no more, on offense.

So this turned out to be true...

...and now playoff seedings are on the line. I loved seeing us get on track after the horrible start to the season, but I've said from the beginning, this isn't going to be a dominate-every-team, steamroller type of season. It's going to be a tough it out type of season. This team isn't better than everybody else, but they're good. It'll be a matter of that Sun Tzu quote in the Pats' locker room (The battle is won before it's fought,) and a matter of who wants it more once the teams are on the field.

I'd love it all to go through Foxborough, but there are no guarantees!

Cooks and Hogan combined for 2 catches on 12 tgts.

Amendola was 6 of 9 for 76 yards.

Lewis, Burkhead and White combined for 13 of 14 for 106 receiving yards and a score.

Might survive in the weak afc. But it’s gonna be tough beating the nfc rep if we can’t stop the run

Brady was off all night.

He was almost picked again on a 3rd down throw to the outside before the Cooks bomb INT.

We go as our offensive line goes...it's as simple as that.

Flemming man, it was Wake but...holy....

I don't want to be too hard on him but I'm expecting more out of Cooks than 1 catch.

Maybe it was heat and humidity?

I agreed with Gruden' suggestion (THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US!) that the intent may have been to simulate a fumble and get a Miami player to touch the ball first without recovering it. If that's the case, it might've helped if the ball had been made to bounce a bit instead of just rolling along the ground.

Gruden called Thuney, Toonie.

A fine young man.

OTOH, Xavien Howard was damn good being (mostly) left on an island against Cooks last night. Two picks and a couple other PDs, plus a couple of misses by Brady ...

I'll wait to see Howe's pressure stats, but it seemed to me that it was the Solder-Thuney end of the line that was getting beat most consistently.

Wake got just the one hit.
