NFL Week 14 Games

Winning tonight's game didn't matter, because even if they had lost, they still win the #1 seed if they beat the Pats and win out.
While true that next week’s game would’ve been the determining factor, the Steelers victory last night prevents NE from wrapping up the #1 seed with a win next week in Pittsburgh. That would’ve been nice, although I hate to get ahead of myself.

So you honestly believe that in terms of talent, the Patriots core group is better than Brown and Bell? For me, what makes the Patriots a better overall offense is the scheme and situational awareness. The Steelers aren't a smart football team and that's what allow Brady and Belichick to capitalize over and over.

My mistake, TommyD...the Ravens were ranked 7th in total D going into this game....
Based on points allowed, they’re still a top 5 defense, so you were correct the whole time.

They are also #1 in turnover differential, having picked off 20 INTs this season. Their defensive gameplan in choosing not to double Brown was a pathetic head scratcher, but their defense has been formidable this season.

Absolutely. The Miami game is the ultimate trap game, since all anyone can talk about is Pittsburgh and New England. Honestly, what I'm afraid of more than losing to Pittsburgh is finding a way both to blow this game in Miami and then to lose in Pittsburgh after losing our swagger. Beyond ruining our momentum, a two game skid would be devastating since it would let Jacksonville enter into the running for a first round bye. I don't picture us losing twice to Pittsburgh, so the bigger threat to our postseason success is getting stranded on Wild Card weekend. Let's hope we can focus on an inconsistent Dolphins team that will give us their all tonight. And let's also hope the Jaguars can drop one more.
Whoa. Slow down there, Mr. Worrier.

One game at a time. No reason we shouldn’t have the #1 or #2 seed after the next four games, despite whatever happens in Pittsburgh. Let’s just get this one tonight and go from there.

Brown and Bell are so "talented" because they touch the ball so much. Move both to a better Patriots offense and neither would be so "talented".

In reality, they don't actually score all that much. It's amazing that Pittsburgh throws in the oddball game and it's treated as normal.

Also, Gronk is the premier offensive weapon in the NFL. I would take our RB situation any day.

The best talent to have is the talent that can execute an offense.

Brown's "talent" from last night will not translate against our secondary.

Its not luck. Luck is once or twice. This looks like a team of destiny. Patriots might be better, but it is what it is.

Got this scoop from your Shaman ? The crap some people believe in nowadays..

Nobody except fantasy players cares about comparing individual players because it is meaningless.

We have a better QB, a better offense overall, a better defense overall and considerably better ST. Our coaching is far ahead of those clowns on the Steelers sideline. We are the White Walkers coming into town, fcuking **** up, taking what we want and move on to the next stop.

This Squealers team is an interesting bunch. I'm not sure if they should be blowing these teams out or are lucky SOBs who are on a roll. Having a competent QB and star players on offense enables them to pull victory out of the jaws of defeat vs lesser teams no question.

What I do know is they are not a very good tackling team and lack talent at LB and in the secondary.

The Shazier injury is a huge blow to this defense.

Didn't read the whole thread - the refs tried hard to hand that game to the Ravens...lol, they were terrible.

And really, putting a corner 1-1 on Brown, after Brown's been lighting him up all night on the same play?

Collingsworth saw the flaw in the Raven's defense and called it out early and often: they were trying to disguise so the linebackers were flying backwards and could never cover anything underneath.

It was truly pathetic. 3rd and 14, so give up a 17'yard pass UNDERNEATH.

Maybe the Ravens defense was ranked high, whatever...the flaws were HUGE.

Pittsburgh's a good team. I expect a great game next week.

Your initial quote included BRADY, Gronk, and Cooks.

The difference between Gronk and Cooks vs. Bell and Brown? Maybe I give the edge to Bell and Brown, but only because they are focal points (which means they can be taken away).

Ben right now isn't in the same league as Brady. You can't make your statement, include Brady, then move the goal posts.

Umm, the Steelers just scored 39 points with 31 first downs and 545 yards of offense.

Against a team that was ranked third in scoring defense (17.3 points per game) and led the NFL with 29 takeaways and a plus-14 turnover differential.

Perhaps you were confusing the Pittsburgh offense with the Browns or Giants offense.

Did you mean the Pittsburgh defense?

Not a good showing tonight, but they're allowing 17.8 ppg (5th best in the NFL).

Let me be more clear - their offense, defense, and coaching are all horrendous.

NE will do whatever they want on both sides of the ball, and there's nothing that any Steeler can do about it but take it hard, dry, and deep.

Umm... no. Pittsburgh has everything to play for, is at home, and has a sense of momentum and purpose after the Shazier injury. This game has to be looked at by the team and fanbase as a measuring stick for where the Patriots are against the class of the AFC. If we can beat Pittsburgh on the road, we can beat anyone barring a phenomenal performance by the Jaguars defense.

Beating Pittsburgh on the road (which has a 100% probability of occurring, and in blowout fashion, no less) will not be that big of a deal. Pittsburgh is not a good team.

They are 11-2. They’re a very good team even if they’re not quite as good as the defending Super Bowl champs :)

Next week's game will be one of the easiest of the season. NE is a terrible match up for Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh is just generally a **** team in 2017.

Pats win by 20+ without breaking a sweat.

3rd road game in a row and playing on a short week. They will break at sweat.

Yesterday I was cheering for the Colts and the Ravens, but you just can't fight the CDL*. It is an unstoppable force.

*CDL = curse of the deflategate liars.

It is soon to be three consecutive seasons for both the Colts and Ravens to miss the postseason entirely. Between the two of them, that's SIX wasted seasons. When is the last time either of those franchises, let alone BOTH, has three wasted seasons in a row.

Hard to argue with that thus far.

And how wrong I was. Turned out to be a good game. I guess I should have expected the old browns to put up a fight against the Steelers.

Yup, that is what worries me the most. Road teams just do not do well in the 3rd game of a three game road trip. And doing that after a Monday night game makes it all the more difficult.

With that said. If Pitts wins, I think the Pats can go back there in the AFCGC and beat them. Just like 2014 all over again.

Brady is the G.O.A.T.. Gronk is considered by many to be the greatest TE to ever play. Cooks is a top shelf WR.

Yes, that trio is better than Ben/Brown/Bell, and what you posted was

Even Brady, Gronk, and Cooks don't beat the fireworks of a Brown and Bell.

I’m saying Pitt isn’t good, but they are not great either. They barely beat the ravens, packers, lions and colts.

This Steelers team reminds me of 2015 Broncos. They were lucky to win as many games as they did in regular season and still ended up winning SB. We almost beat them in Denver. I just hope we finish the season strong and secure HFA this season. ThoughI like our chances next week, I don't want us to go down to PIT for AFCCG no matter how good our team is. We have had success against them in the past but with their luck, you never know.
