Thursday Night Football - N.O. vs. Atlanta

You are spot on pherein. Like many other people, I was livid watching this game. I knew from the first possession it was going to be a hideously reffed game when the defensive holding AND interference weren't called in the end zone on the DB who mugged Thomas that cost the Saints a first and goal at the one. That was a four point swing when they had to settle for the FG. Then the very next possession the Saints get flagged on 3rd down on a very ticky-tack call that extended the Falcons drive and gave them three points. After those two possessions, I knew the screw job was going to be pretty bad. And didn't the embellishment job Ryan did on his flop from the Rankins shove extend the drive which led to their lone TD in the first half? The final straw was the official who ignored SP screaming for a time out, and then almost baiting him to come out on the field to voice his displeasure. The officials should have huddled and come to the logical conclusion that the flag should have been picked up because it was the official's mistake in not granting the time out.
oh and it gets worse

@NFLonFOX @NFL
Troubling report by @JayGlazer regarding league hiring of fired @Saints employee.
Unbelievable

The same whistleblower for bountygate that was fired.

Sean Payton Says Report of NFL Hiring Whistleblower Mike Cerullo Is 'Troubling'
How cool is that. Here we go again

Ridiculous League Bias - Saints Employee, Snitch Mike Cerullo To Sit On Judgement of Payton?

Because the NFL wants a big city market and NO is not that. Don't like conspiracy stuff, but I know Godell does not like SP.

Conspiracy theories: Does the NFL just not like the Saints?

Once again Pherein, you are 100% correct. This is a joke. The two teams that get hosed the most by Goodell and his minions are the Patriots and Saints.
I have watched football for 50 years. The worst officiated games I have ever seen are:
1) Patriots-Raiders playoff game in the 1976 season. The bogus roughing the passer call by Ben Dreith on Sugar Bear Hamilton. Years later he said he always hated the Patriots. The entire game was full of calls and non-calls that went the Raiders way in every key moment. I still seethe about that game as the Patriots would have won the SB that year against the Vikings. 2) 2015 Sunday night game at Denver. So many game-changing calls and non-calls that ALL went Denver's way. Was the difference in not getting home field advantage. Despite being ravaged by injuries, I still believe in my heart the Patriots would have beaten Carolina in the SB. 3) The Seattle-Pittsburgh SB. The most one-sided, worst officiated SB in history, no other SB game is even close. Seattle fans should feel worse about this travesty than losing on Butler's INT. 4) The Saints-Falcons game this past Thursday. I don't know what the heck the officials were looking for, but impartiality sure wasn't it.
Okay, rant over. I still think the Saints stand a good chance of making the Super Bowl, and a Patriots-Saints SB would be a win-win for me. My Patriots roots will always have me root for the Patriots (even with me living almost 30 years in the New Orleans area), but if the Patriots had to lose the SB to anyone, the Saints would be the one...

wow i watched that game just now you got screwed by Ben Dreith. three holding penalties against Bill Lenkaitis, and Atkinson cheap shot against Francis.
I don't think that had the impact of the 11 penalties giving Altana 9 1st downs, but yeah they changed the game and you should have won that. Without those calls NE might have won the SB, but without a doubt beat the raiders.

Im betting with Mike Cerullo judging we might lose our coach for a game now or more.

Id say look at Brees face at .21 sec you can see he knows what is happening. Theres a dusgusted look ive never seen in Brees.

Like he knows it and is trying to be calm. That's as mad as Ive ever seen Brees. Atlanta is going to get destroyed in the Dome.

One of the referees Thursday night was a former Falcons player, whose son is a Falcons fan.

The same referee was involved in three critical plays: the disallowed field goal before halftime in which Payton said he's never gotten a flag for a misaligned player without being warned first; the awful roughing the passer penalty against Rankins for brushing up against Ryan; and worst of all, cutting across the field during Lattimore's interception return, causing Lattimore to take an inside course instead of sticking to the sideline, which in all likelihood cost the Saints a touchdown.

They are not going to let us win, are they ... Its ok well do the best we can
