Gronk gets 1 game

Welp...Miami just became a tougher game. Especially with Cutler playing and not Moore.

Gronk needs to not appeal this because it risks losing him for Pittsburgh
That's not how it works. His appeal won't affect his availability vs Pittsburgh whatsoever.

Maybe Hogan will be back to soften the blow if gronk doesn't appeal.

Not as bad as I thought it could have been. Up to the rest of the team to take care of business against Miami, and one less game for Gronk to potentially get an injury in. Glad he's gonna be available for Pittsburgh.

He'll get more rest for the upcoming playoff run. Next 4 games are all guaranteed wins anyways (unless they clinch everything by week 17 and they rest everyone.)

One game is fair and fine with me. I don't want the rest of the country going on and on about it for the rest of the season. I don't want to hear any "cheating" bs or anything about the Patriots getting a pass. I definitely don't want to hear anything related to him getting soft treatment because he's white.

True but if he successfully appeals it then he gets no fine? If he does successfully appeal it I expect BB will take some action against him in some way.
Why would B.B. do that?

Thinking out loud, is this possible - he appeals, plays vs Miami, then suspension is upheld and he misses Pittsburgh...???? Don't tell me the NFL isn't thinking about doing this if they can...

Yes, unless the appeal is heard this week

Why would B.B. do that?

Because he is quoted as saying it was BS. And he set precedent with Welker doing something not in the best interest of the team.

I expect Gronk to sit for all or part of the game next Monday regardless of the outcome of his appeal.

He needs to just stop talking and take the suspension.
What has he said aside from his post-game comments?

Also, why should he not appeal? There is no mechanism in place for a penalty to be increased if he unsuccessfully appeals. A 1 game suspension will cost him a $280k game check plus the added likelihood of not meeting some of the performance based incentives that his restructured contract features.

Taking all that into account would you really still advise him to - stop talking (???) and take the suspension?

Edit: Update Salary

Oh Jesus. If they were thinking about doing that in some grand plot, they would have just done it and suspended him through the Pittsburgh game. They would have crammed Article 46 right up his ass. Time to stop with the conspiracy theories.

We most likely should know tomorrow what the appeal brings. I would assume it gets upheld.

To be honest though, if it was announced that the Pats were going to give Gronk rest on Monday, I honestly wouldn't be mad at all.

We need him for the Pittsburgh game, then I'm fine with putting him in bubble wrap until the playoffs. A healthy playoff Gronk is a rarity, a rarity we need this year with no Edelman to count on.

That’s ridiculous.
