Eli Manning: An end of an era....

29 other teams would've been delighted to have 2 super bowl wins, over the Pats no less, in the past decade.

They should've made up an injury to put him on the bench. What is Geno or anybody else going to do without receivers or an o-line?

07 giants and 12 ravens had very good qb play in the playoffs.

In his last 10 playoff games, Flacco has thrown 24 TDs and only 4 picks. Thats crazy.

And Cousins has been one to get on hot streaks.

Let's not forget how Denver got there with a decrepit forehead two years ago.
Just because something happened doesn’t mean it’s a good plan. Cousins with the jags, IMO, would be a handful more years that look jut like cousins with the skins.

But flacco really has lost it.
His average yards per COMPLETION this year is 8.2. That is abysmal and last year it was just 9.9, also putrid.

If you don’t know that Eli is part of the problem you haven’t been watching.
They loaded him up with weapons and although they are now injured when they were healthy the offense still sucked.

That is the only plausible scenario I can come up with for them choosing to start Geno Smith who has more career INTs than TDs.

It has got to be intentional tanking as I can't think of any other factor that's anywhere near rational.
They need to see what they have.
If you are through with your starter put the backup out there and see if you want to keep him around.
Playing Eli would be the move that accomplishes nothing.
And Eli was doing just fine tanking it himself.

He looked horrible Monday. I bet his back is giving him major issues still.

Hes the Tiger Woods of the NFL. Not "old" but physically eroded.

Even if they had top-flight receivers I don't think it would help

I didn’t see much of Monday’s game but I caught a little on Xm radio and Boomer Esiason was destroying flacco.
No emotion, no leadership, stupid throws, loooked like he didn’t want to be there.

Time for Abby Manning to have some HGH shipped to her house for some pregnancy related matters...

Abby is Eli's wife.

Effectively saying Eli can recover and have better performance next season if he follows in his brother's footsteps.
My bad. Ashley is Forehead's.

I wouldn't put it past him. Not one bit.

Don't get me wrong. Eli Manning is not an all time great quarterback. We're having a great time yucking that fact up now that he's being benched. We can laugh and point all day and night about his mediocre career stats but that won't erase the 2 Superbowl rings he has. That's two rings we don't have. Hahahahah Manning's sucks. Maybe he does but aren't we acting a tad bit arrogant considering his playoff record against us?

I don't know if its arrogance but I think folks are taking in some enjoyment that his career is unceremoniously coming to a close.

From my PoV, whether we like it or not, be it skill, luck or a combination of both he happened to play well enough to beat the Patriots in two Super Bowls.

The Giants did get away with some missed calls, and the Pats were unfairly tarnished by false allegations, especially in the run up to SB 42.

All credit due to Eli and the players who competed and earned their win, but we can't ignore the fact that the Pats were playing at less than full strength (injured Brady, injured O-linemen, injured Gronk) and still came pretty darn close to winning.

Yep

Jags are probably winning 10 games this year with Bortles at QB. The Redskins haven't won more than 9 even with Cousins.

Jags roster>>>> Redskins roster.

Cousins is part of them not winning more than 9.
Don’t be fooled by stat accumulation.

How bout we let the jags win 10 before we give them credit for doing it.
