is Akeem Ayers still available? Although if McClellin comes back we may not need him.

Doubt that someone who is just sitting around on the street and has fizzled out of multiple places can contribute anything. This is not 2014 Ayers that is available (otherwise he would be signed already).

No one promoted from the PS yesterday.

LB Trevor Reilly got a raise of $9360 per week on the PS.

The only excusable reason why Langi hasn't been IRed and somebody signed from the practice squad, is that Bill is expecting to add a player from outside the organization during the week.

Probably. Lots of moving parts, though.

Valentine is eligible to begin practicing this week (I think), and McClellin is eligible to be activated for Week-10 @DEN (I think). Bringing Lewis and/or Trevor Reilly up from the PS would likely need to be relatively permanent moves, since they're apparently in demand from other teams. What to to about Harris and Dwayne Allen and the cap implications of moving on from them.

After tonight, the Pats have the Chargers at Gillette next Sunday at 1pm, then the BYE week. I expect that adding a player from outside may not be the only roster move BB makes in the next 9 days.

The Chargers' Hunter Henry and Tyrell Williams are both about 6'5". They're tied for 3rd most targets from Rivers ... both with 21 catches on 30 targets (70%) for about 300 yards (14.2 ypc).

At the very least, Kumerow should have been able to provide some scout team work for the Pats' CBs on Friday.

With Malcom Brown OUT,wondering if we could still see Blackson promoted to take HT's roster spot.

Might (or might not) complicate things a bit - IF - BB has a trade lined up for Monday or Tuesday.

Good question. I have come down on the side of unlikely, for a couple reasons. First, LA doesn't run well, so we can get by with small guys inside (Guy, Butler). Also, Valentine and Brown both will be back in few weeks. 4 big guys would be more than enough, and not sure they want to risk releasing Blackson. Roster spots are unclear, noting that HT still holds a spot and McClellin returns after the bye.

No changes, as it turns out.

Ayers plays on the line and McClellin in more of a traditional LB spot no?
Both Ayers & McClellin are best-suited for 3-4 OLB roles. They are not 4-3 OLBs,
and they are neither 4-3 nor 3-4 ILBs either.

Not really. The roles for both with the Pats have been OLB who moves down to the line situationally. McClellin played his first two NFL seasons at DE for the Bears, actually.

McClellin played some MLB for the Bears in 2015. Not saying he was good at it, just that he did it.
