Not the prettiest, but I'll take 6-2 heading into the bye...

Let's discuss
In my opinion, the Patriots kicked the Chargers arse. But we performed very poorly in the red zone.

The Chargers had a lucky run and pretty much failed offensively otherwise.

I'd love to see McDaniels bring back some of the old fashioned 3 back sets for a few weeks - the talent is there to do it.
You could even add Dorsett back there in some formations.

Noticed Slater took at least one snap at WR today. I guess he's not really serviceable beyond the once every few games play?

They've used Slater in their jumbo run packages for years. He's a good run blocker and once a year they run him deep on a pass route out of that package.

Rivers had a 76 rating today.

Shoulder injuries are very painful - remember Jimmy G last year. Clavicles usually break falling with outstretched arm.
He got hit directly on the shoulder. Speculation I saw was AC joint sprain.

Actually, they've done it mostly at the end of games for years when they're running out the clock.. They have tried occasionally to burn the opposing team deep, but I think it's worked only once or twice in more than a dozen attempts (?)

They had two TDs called back on penalties.

I know what you mean but I laughed as I immediately thought of Brady running the wishbone.

In fact, Tom Brady has twice as many career receptions compared to Slater

They wouldn't have been TDs if it wasn't for the penalties.

I don’t know. Butler didn’t quit on the out of bounds play and the pick could have bee a no call, though I thought it was correct.

Either way, whenever he's in it's obvious a run play is coming

It was on a running play... When he's on the field, 99% of the time it's an inside running play and he's got the responsibility of blocking the CB. The other 1% it's a play-action to him going deep..

They're going to connect on that fly route eventually. :D
