Really hope we win tonight. The sox are making the day even worse. Talk about flaming out. Another sweep coming up.

Don't raise your hopes too high. I'm not trying to be a pessimist here. I still think we win but it will be a high scoring game. The defensive problems are very significant and have been trouble some for several weeks now. Expecting a turn around on a Thursday Night game feels a bit unrealistic.

Hope they wow me and I'm proven wrong.

I see a better performance tonight. I just don't see how they win this game if they allow another 30 plus points.

FYI: Gilmore spotted with the trainer on the field with Roberts and a few other injured players.

Gronk missing a game vs Ward saves his knees in not mad

It would help if Brady would throw him passes that are not under or overthrown for a change.

I think people forget that Bennett's huge, 3 TD breakout game happened while Gronk was out with his hamstring injury. Tonight will tell us a lot more about what Allen's capable of in this offense than the last month has.

Gronk = JD Drew

Ward is listed as doubtful, he's probably not going to play tonight anyway. I'd be lying if I said the same thought hadn't crossed my mind, though.

Sale is cooked. He's overthrowing and has (obviously) has piss poor movement on his slider

You know what I mean

Drew was not durable. Just like Gronk

Drew played baseball. Gronk is an NFL TE. Comparing durability between a guy who doesn't even play a contact sport vs. a guy who plays arguably the most damaging position in his (and who's had something like 9-10 surgeries) isn't exactly apples to apples.

With Alexander and David both out, I'll be surprised if the Pats don't come out throwing. The middle of the Bucs' D has been gutted by injuries, they're extremely vulnerable to the short-intermediate passing game.

Sucks all the more that Gronk's out, this is the kind of game where I'd expect him to go for 120 yards and 2 TDs

Gronk = Mark Bavaro, both the good and the bad.

Yup, that's the right comparison. All the same things that make Gronk a great player are also going to ensure that he can't be the durable, long-lasting player we want him to be. They go hand in hand; you can't play TE the way he plays it and with his athleticism and with the target he has on his back and expect to stay on maintain Witten-like durability. It basically can't happen, especially for a guy who came into the league with a major back injury (which is the whole reason he dropped to us in the first place).

I get being disappointed, but I don't get anyone complaining about his character over it or insinuating that he's in any way comparable to a baseball player. We've had 7 kickass years of watching him, and what we're seeing now is the result. He's still a great player, but he's not going to be out there every week and it's not because he doesn't feel like playing.

Giardi directly contradicting Lombardi...
