Brady was scrambling and Allen was just standing there with no defenders around him. He waited for the ball instead of coming back to get it. He can't adjust. He's a highly paid TE. He's supposed to be able to do that. Brady isn't always going to be able to make the perfect throw. In fact if he's going to ole Alligator Arms he's probably a 3rd or 4th read, and the guy will have to adjust. He can't do it.

Brady had all day to throw it. Allen wasn't "standing" there. He tried to adjust back to the ball. Brady wasn't throwing to Cooks or Amendola. He was throwing to Allen. Brady threw it short.

Brady makes that pass 9 out of 10 times. Unfortunately, this is that 1 time he didn't.

I don't agree with @PatsDeb on this particular throw or play but I do agree with her that Allen hasn't been targeted or seen the field much which is curious if not concerning.

No he didn't; not really.

That's subjective I guess but he wasn't just "standing" there.

I'm not trying to protect the guy just find the hands of stone type comments inaccurate.

I guess if he was good he'd be on the field more. I don't know why he isn't.

They're saying Doug Martin is to be heavily featured tonight.

Well now that Gronk is inactive, Brady might be forced to work on that Allen connection

He isn't on the field more often because he sucks, just like he did in Indy after he Got Paid.

Well, if as fans we look to equate production justifying the players salary , Allen needs to contribute tonight.

5/60/1TD and excellent blocking is expected.

That could be the case. I don't know. I just can't say he sucks based on what I've seen on film.

The Captain may have a valid point, and I've also been pointing out how this whole idea of great blocking seems to be something of a mystery, so far.

For instance, where was he on those last 2 key running plays? Sitting on the bench, which seems to be a bit of a pattern. I think if he were that efficient as a blocker, he'd have gotten more than 9 snaps last week.

That said, I haven't watched the film as much as you have, so I'm just going by the eye test, the snaps or lack thereof, and the beat reporters that have pointed out some missed blocks. Definitely something to keep an eye on, but he hasn't gotten off to a good start.

Well so much for that. Zero targets, hardly any snaps. Hollister is ahead on depth chart. Allen is just complete useless.
