1/4 of the season gone...where do they end up?

If the D can play like we know they can.. and it's a very very BIG IF I could see us going 12-4, my heart wants it to be 14-2 but we have tough road games coming up.

The offensive hasnt clicked on all cylinders yet and we are still putting up 30+ points a game on very good defences.

I just don't see how we can go undefeated the rest of the way

Brady's gonna have to be superman if they are to go 12-4.
Its a good thing he is.

For them to go 12-4 the offense needs to stay at this level and the defense needs to be average.

IMHO, we would win the division with 10-6.

I don't see anyway possible of avoiding four losses between Oakland, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Denver, Division games, TB. That's a horrific schedule. So 10-6 and a WC finish or barely missing out then a divisional round loss at best.

Patricia has cost himself a head coaching gig if the D keeps this up. Brady's brilliance is being countered from the D turning QB's into...Brady.

People will call me a troll because I'm always negative. Yet, where am I wrong in this assessment? Don't just say
" They've done it before". Because the D has never been this bad.

Yes. The D has been this bad.

The 2002 run D was beyond horrific. Worst I've ever seen

In 2005 in Oct and Nov they allowed 424 yards and 27 points a game.

In 2010, 2011 and early 2012 the D barely stopped teams thanks to forcing turnovers.

In all those years they found a way to right the ship- kind of.

There's no guarantees the O can sustain this. Nor is it automatic the D improves.

What's gonna happen when the likes of Ryan, Carr, Steelers offense, gets a hold of this D? You can't lose to Carolina at home. It's inexcusable. They're a bad football team. All day everyday that needs to be a blowout

Yeah but all we are using as evidence to right the ship is: " They've done it before".

The newcomers will learn the D

The coaching staff will learn how to use the new players

They are a talented bunch.

There. If you want to keep saying, "There is no guarantee" or disagree then there is really no use in having the discussion.

And yes, you are negative.

This defense has been flat out embarrassing! I don't think it's lack of talent. Could they use another player on defense? Sure. Looking back I think letting go of ealy was a mistake. This team needs to show a lot more than they have.

I don't either at this point, and it is so frustrating, since if we could bring our last-place defense even up to just slightly below average, the team would probably be unstoppable with the offense playing the way it is.

Per Mark Daniels: "Tom Brady is first in passing yards, total offense and tied for 1st in pass TDs. He's second in passer rating, yds/pass att, & yds/pass comp. Mike Gillislee is tied for second in the NFL in rushing touchdowns. Gronk is sixth in the NFL in receiving yards and receiving yards per game. Chris Hogan is tied for second in the NFL in receiving touchdowns. Brandin Cooks is first in the NFL in yards per reception (22.6)." And all this without Julian. AND those crazy numbers were put up in part against the 4th and 5th ranked defenses in the league.

Such a disappointment to have powerhouse offensive performances nullified because our defense can't perform against anybody, not even bottomfeeder offenses like the Panthers.

12-4 would be my best guess.

I agree mostly, but IMO they will lose at least 1 of the 3 games with Atlanta, Oakland and Pittsburgh

This is a 10-6 team at best if this defense continues to be the worst scoring defense in the history of the league.

Fortunately it can't get any worse... can it?

You can't fix a defense lacking in talent.

The secondary can be better because there's talent there, but the front seven is severly lacking. Players leaving, Hightower injured and Branch looking like a former shell of himself.

Brady will have to be superman for us to have a shot.

10-6.

I agree with the 10-6, but I don't think the defensive play has been due to a lack of talent

Our young dline are getting pressures and sacks, it's mostly our secondary just completely blowing coverages or getting penalties at the absolute worst times possible to extend opponents drive

With Hightower out, our LB group is JV quality and one of the worst in the entire league.. that is where they have the largest talent gap on the roster and is why they're trying to play safeties down in the box as a smaller linebacker

Might have to trade for someone on the defensive side of the ball. They need to cut Harris. He ain't even seeing the field.

My theory is that Harris is just practicing and acclimating himself to the system as a backup player, but I anticipate him getting a lot more playing time once we start playing our divisional opponents

Harris has intimate knowledge and familiarity with the AFC East... he could prove to be valuable in those games and earn his salary that way

I always have to laugh when people predict Pittsburgh beating New England....even in the years we weren't that good or coming off embarrasing losses...brady always would kick the **** out of the steelers..he owns them. Brady knows it, and the steelers know it. They are petrified of tom brady

We will beat them again. Heinz field doesn't matter, brady LOVES playing the steelers

Brady eats that zone blitz scheme for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. I'm shocked at how they've never really tried to change things up drastically in any way against the Pats for like 10+ years despite constant failure

I hope they keep sticking to it hehe

What's also crazy is KC on defense hasn't skipped a beat after losing Eric Berry who is a top 3 FS in this league

That team is loaded with talent and Andy Reid has them playing at a very high level.. they'll be tough to beat if they stay healthy

They won't have Gronk kryptonite if they ever have a rematch tho

Plus they never win home playoff games...but they find ways to win it seems...their schedule was easy coming up to this...we aren't very good...so now it gets tough for them with Div games Oak and Den

Two Games that bother me are the @Pitt and @ Denver we need a split or win Both. IF we lose Both we can Kiss a Bye week goodbye. I don't mind if KC keeps winning because if they end up with the #1 Seed no biggie. Alex Smith have proven that he's not a Playoffs winning QB.
