If they hold TB under 30 BB takes everyone to Dairy Queen!

Avacado ice cream all around!

Didn’t read all 5 pages... just posted in case it hadn’t been said

Real thoughts:
- adjusting week to week is who they are
- that is, who the B.B. Patriots are... maybe not who this years players are
- freelancing bad
- will be surprised/not surprised when/if Butlers snaps go back up. The onus is on him to prove himself fixed.
- boy have we seen the value of Hightower in the first month. Coordinating the rest of team doesn’t make the stat line.
- On D, to date, not grasping “next man up”
- On offense, machine is humming, thank you football god (won’t say football Jesus b/c Jewish, even tho it’s funnier.)
- except, make run game work please
- will not even try a guess on looks/packages. Admire smart guys like OP who can.
- We’re need to optimize opportunities against hurricane ravaged opponents.

James Ihedigbo - Unsigned Free Agent - 2017 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com

This guy's available. I saw him recently on one of the shows. He seems ready to go. He played for us. He plays SS. And, if nothing else, he is a solid special teamer.

To be fair, the year he played for us was the one year the defense was as bad or worse than this one's been. He's now 33 and has played 4 games in the last year and a half - it's more likely than not that he's done, and if brought in we shouldn't reasonably hope he'd be any better than the fourth safety at most.

the Gilmore signing jeopardizes the dynasty. There's no way to recover from it, not this season, not next season, not the season after that.
That's not true. Like any high priced deal, they're on the hook for the first couple of years, so he's basically here through 2018.

After that, they'd see a cap savings of almost 3m dollars for the 2019 cap. They can walk away after 2 years.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they bring some blitzes on Thursday. Winston's not a bad QB, but he does have a penchant for trying to win the game by himself and making ill-advised, hurried throws under pressure. Force him into a few of those and you'll probably end up with a pick or two.
Yep. Couldn't agree more.

You might be right, I have heard differing numbers. I'd like to get a detailed analysis of the cap implications of trading or cutting Gilmore in 2017, 2018 and 2019, with some kind of references.

why do you need a detailed analysis of anything? are you a member of the NFL? do you have money invested in the Patriots?

I often see comments about the salary cap effect of something or other and don't really understand or follow the reasoning. So if I could get a detailed analysis in this case, it would clarify my understanding of the salary cap generally and not just in this case.

You can always choose to tag Miguel with any questions. Although he's moved on to BSJ as a paid columnist, he is still a member of our forum and checks in regularly.

That said, I'm absolutely positive that the team is in the black with Gilmore for the 2019 season, should they decide to part ways. It's way too early for any kind of talk about that, though. We really shouldn't even be discussing the subject.
