He is getting some bad optics. Brady's throws to him has been atrocious but at the end of the day, he does not have a catch. I mean he has zero, big O, that is 0 catches.

Give me a break. That ball was in the air forever. Allen was running across the field. Allen thought the ball was a lot further than it actually was and misjudged and ran too far upfield and then started running back and barely got 2 hands to it. That's what I saw that happened. You can't call Brady's throw atrocious when he slings it under pressure like that with plenty of air. Allen's job is to track the ball and adjust and catch it, which is seems clearly completely unable to do. He had no pressure from the defense on the play. He was uncovered. He just had poor judgment.

Allen doesn't look anywhere near the athletic guy he was early in his career. He looks slow and doesn't look smooth or athletic at all. Reminds me of Alge Crumpler's cameo here.

Yep just an awful transaction by BB

If Gilmore busts along with the ealy debacle this might go down as BBs worst offseason of his career

Alge Crumpler was an awesome blocker for the whole year, and taught the 2 rookies that year (Gronk and Hernandez) a thing or two about being professionals. I was glad to have him for that 1 year for almost vet minimum despite just 6 catches the whole year.

Allen is being paid $6m, and he might not get to 6 catches. Also keep in mid Crumpler was effectively the 3rd TE on the team, not 2nd. Although at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Hollister overtakes Allen on depth chart soon, if he hasn't already. We all heard what beast Allen is in red zone, and yet I saw Hollister almost pull in a TD and Allen not even getting a look.

There is no doubt that this point...Brady doesn't trust him

No more colts please...they can't learn our playbook

He's s very expensive car insurance policy.

The problem is if you total your Lexus (Gronk), with the payout you'd be lucky to buy a 85 Datsun 280zx

more like a '72 Dasun 510. or maybe a '75 B210.

I do wish he made that catch though

For some reason you keep thinking this is a thread about a TE when it's one about a backup-OL

Sure, lets compare the fact that Graham and Derby are nothing more than big body WRs because they cant block at all to a joke about an actual TE who gets regularly over or underthrown by a HoF QB. Makes sense..

Dwayne Allen continues to get less and less time on the field

His snap count for week 4 was 9. That's 12 percent of the offensive snaps

This guy continues to rob the patriots at 6 million per year playing only 9 snaps a game now

And Allen is nothing more than a small bodied right tackle because he has no hands and low Football IQ. Because he can't catch at all. He's got a hall of fame QB throwing to him and he still can't find a way to catch the ball.

Keep making excuses for Allen. Bottom line he has zero catches through week 4, BB continues to give him less and less time on the field giving him only 9 snaps in week 4, brady doesn't trust him, clearly the patriots don't trust him anymore. If his blocking is that great, why are the patriots weeding him out of there plans on offense with the low snap count?

Do you think he's worth the cost of 6 million per year playing only 9 snaps per game?

I never thought this guy would come in and destroy defenses, but I was expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of Tim Wright production. I really thought that was reasonable. Who knows . . . a lot of season left.

Dwayne Allen's stock is going in the right direction and that's called Down. His Snap count went from 46 in week 2 to to 17 in week 3. Lets hope its goes to Zero from week 4 onward.

Good News it went down to 9 in week 4
