The Pats linebacking core is AWFUL, Hightower is the only decent player, rest are mediocre at best and that's being generous.

Cooks was open a good amount of times he wasn't the issue.

I could get the level of separation Cooks was getting most of the time, and he was usually lined up against someone he should have absolutely owned.

Also....

Cooks failed to use his body properly on the deep pass that Mitchell broke up, and didn't bother to really fight for the ball, either.

Or, to put it another way, Cooks had damn well better step up both his compete level and his technical approach.

KC's defense switches up inside the 20...they go to a three man rush and choke the middle. They took control in the 2nd half and were much stronger willed at the end than the Pats offense. This wasn't a KC loss like 2 years ago or the Buffalo debacle. The Pats have a good team, they just need to work at cleaning up the coverage mistakes and create some pressure throughout the game. Tonight they were gassed after 3 Q's

Brady is fine. No problem there. Sometimes our receivers get no separation and we don't light up the scoreboard, but 27 points is something a lot of teams would like to average. In fact, that is just about what we averaged placing 3rd in scoring last year. 27 points should win the game. Anybody even mentioning Brady in this debacle needs to screw their head back on tight.

Obviously this D isn't anywhere near this bad, so I'm not too concerned. This was a glitch.

I am with you. I won't defend Brady as he looked off today and looked off in Superbowl 51 (we won, but he threw a pick six and almost threw a couple picks durung the infamous comeback (but he was magic in that game too) . Saying he's done after today is dumb af though.

It isn't a knock on Brady. We can all just chalk it up to him being 40. It has no impact on his legacy. BB has to make a move on Jimmy so why wouldn't he do this? BB's smarter than you are!

So one bad game (where the D completely failed) from Brady and its Jimmy G time and BB is the mastermind behind this TB sabotage.

For me it was Brady's lack of accuracy. Just balls that were off just enough that otherwise are spot on. Accuracy is the thing that goes first as well sometimes more so than strength. He wasn't exactly throwing darts out there and the receivers just couldn't catch them.

There's enough stupidity in this thread already. Don't add to it with this crap.

There will be a learning curve with Cooks, just like any other new receiver.

The "Cooks is the new Moss" posts have got to stop. Yes, we have a speedy, young WR, but so do a lot of teams and now he can't be utilized in the same manner with the loss of Edelman.

If Cooks was Moss 2.0, he'd still be in New Orleans.

Edelman loss is still being felt. Amendola is best when he's a 30 catch a year guy, he was just begging to get hurt tonight. Hogan was just bad. Gronk looked lost all night, like his non TD knocked the wind out of his soul. Gillislee looked good at the beginning, but where was he when it counted?

Defense was awful. Maybe the Colts scouted Malcom Brown right and we were the suckers? Jordan Richards was on the field way too much. Where was this amazing secondary? Van Noy was asked to do too much, David Harris was sitting there collecting a paycheck and not much else.

Awful all around.

....brady was bad. hogan didn't show, and gronk?? wtf....he looked slow and disengaged..they have to get him the ball.

Peters happened to Hogan and Berry happened to Gronk. Gotta give credit where it's due, they had two of the best covering them.

I think the bigger issue is that the RBs and Cooks didn't beat their men as badly as they should have in the passing game. Cooks played fine, not going to harp on him, but given who was covering him I think he could have done more.

Probably most telling of all, though, was that the offense became completely useless once Amendola got hurt. They need to figure that out right now, because it's well-established that Amendola exists in a perpetual state of being injured. Any offense that can't afford to lose him is a bad offense in the making.

Silver lining: I'm glad all the ridiculous 16-0 nonsense stopped extra early this year.

Seriously. If you mentioned the phrase "19-0" you should go and punch yourself right in the face because you obviously haven't been following football very long.

I'm sure this team will iron out the kinks and stay competitive, but records like 12-4 are earned, not automatically assumed. The loss of Julian Edelman is enormous for this offense. It was last time, too.

I think if Hightower and Amendola miss several games, this team is in serious trouble. I said all offseason that injuries are the great equalizer. Unfortunately that is exactly what is happening. Extremely thin at WR and front 7 of the D. I'm hoping they sign Ayers to help the front 7 and Jeremy Ross at WR/PR. Losing Edelman and Mitchell was a disaster for the offense, and Sheard and Long were huge losses in FA. Lost a lot of talent, chemistry and leadership.

It's like sharks smelling blood in the water. Every team sees this as their SB, and will attack this team's weaknesses, which in this game was many. Hopefully they can withstand the storm, otherwise is going to be a long, painful season for us Pat's fans.

This was such a weird game, our D made Alex Smith look like Tom Brady, and Tom Brady looked like Tom Hodson. Brady is now 4-6 without Edelman. Just a crushing loss, both the game and the loss of Edelman a few weeks ago.

I really have nothing positive to say. This game from the start, made me nervous about our 2017 team. Just don't like the mix on this team. The injuries don't help, but this team, just can't put my finger on it, just have a bad feeling. Too much gloating about 28-3 and all, rubs teams the wrong way.
