2017 NFL Training Camp Cuts, Signings & Trades

Rex leaves a lot of inept defensive draft picks behind when he leaves a job.

Ragland is coming off of a lost rookie season, because he popped his ACL. Tough to call that an inept pick, at least to this point, IMO

It's pretty clear that Buffalo is stockpiling picks while jettisoning the choices of the previous regime, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind the choice of players getting moved, beyond "We didn't pick that guy".

…Looking back, I never understood why the Pats released Tim Wright. He made some very good plays towards the end on Friday -- and I noticed TB12 was really happy to see him at the end of the game...

because he sucked

He didn't suck any worse than both Scott Chandler & Mike Williams, 2 complete, utter wastes of both salary cap space & a 7th-round draft pick.

Joe Haden is on the market:

Browns trying to trade Joe Haden

Ok, I'll be that guy...... three years of cost certainty (~11M each year in base salary) for a 28 year old coming off injuries, in exchange for one year of cheap 27 year old Malcolm Butler, with franchise tag possibility if not extension thereafter?

I can't see it for either side. Ultimately I think the Pats don't want that much tied up in 2 CBs, especially one coming off back to back leg injuries. And on the Browns' side is that one year of age difference (at a cheap contract) really worth it, unless Haden is completely shot (which it sounds like he's not)?

I wonder if the squealers would be interested. Do they have the money? I think Green Bay as well.

Apparently Browns are also shopping Cameron Erving. Now that is someone that I could see Belichick taking a flier on if they were willing to do it for a 5th rd pick.. Bring him in and let Scar work with him.

Was coming to post that.

I loved him out of FSU. Get him to Scar. Plenty to work with. He can play G/C & we need a 9th OL.

Think he could be groomed to be Solder's eventual replacement (assuming he walks in FA)??

All part of the Brown's insidious plan to own every 2018 draft pick?

Not a huge surprise - Odighizuwa cut from the Giants after PED suspension.

Our draft forum guys were very high on him in 2015. Any ideas on why he hasn't worked out?

Possibly interesting ...

The Browns have waived DE Cam Johnson (6'3"/267). After bouncing around various practice squads for four seasons ...

"In 2016, Johnson appeared in 12 games for the Browns and recorded 32 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 55 edge rusher out of 110 qualifying players." (NFLTR)
