2017 NFL Training Camp Cuts, Signings & Trades

According to Adam Schefter, the Lions have released old friends Keshawn Martin and Tim Wright.

Looking back, I never understood why the Pats released Tim Wright. He made some very good plays towards the end on Friday -- and I noticed TB12 was really happy to see him at the end of the game.

But I guess that is a ship that has sailed.

IDK. Both did okay in their one Pats season. Both seemed to get pushed off the bottom of the roster by new acquisitions who out-performed them. Both at least now the system. With Edelman gone and Mitchell dinged up, Martin especially might be worth putting in a waiver claim for. Of course, neither will likely get as far as the Pats claim priority.

I always liked Martin. He was cut last year because of health IIRC.

Wright did well here. Not sure what the deal was with him. Too small? Too slow? Didn't get the offense well enough?

I liked them both, but I was particularly impressed with Tim Wright when I re-watched the '14 games. He was a demon in the red zone. And his athleticism was evident last Friday.

Martin lasted until final cuts. Maybe just too many guys ahead of him on the roster.

Wright was cut in June 2015, after the Pats acquired Chandler and Mike Williams. IIRC, the knock on Wright was his blocking.

No really, Deus tell us what you really think

You could question who would you rather have Wright or O'Shaunessey/Holister.

I'm expecting it to be Shank on the 53, and Hollister on the P.S.. I'll take that.

Mr Patronising is in mid-season form, I see.

What a great way to contribute to the pleasure of an intelligent and respectful discussion of football!

My post was fine, and accurate. Wright couldn't block worth a damn, he had a lot of difficulty getting open, and his receiving skills were overrated.

This is a message board if you attack someone personally you have serious social issues and the same goes for calling people names. Disagree on the issues there is nothing constructive insulting people.

Not sure either will get claimed at this point.
