2017 NFL Training Camp Cuts, Signings & Trades

I get that, and I'm fine with it, but I think the best interior pass rusher in football gives them a much better chance at Lombardi's than a back up a back up QB.

If we lose Brady with JG traded away it wont matter how stacked our overall roster or how good our interior pass rush is. I love Aaron Donald but having a capable backup behind Brady who knows the system is at this juncture (with Brady being 40) pretty damn valuable.

I get what you're saying, but the issue would be the fact that Donald is at the end of his rookie pact and currently holding out. He's expecting a deal of 100+ million dollars. I guess I don't get where the "5 yrs of Donald" is coming from, but if that could somehow happen, it would be tempting.

As another poster mentioned, the Rams would never trade their franchise player, and I doubt that Belichick would ever pay the kind of money that Donald is seeking.

If you are referring to Andy I made it very clear that I didn't think the Rams would do it in a number of posts, but there's no harm in floating it. I realize Donald would get a premium contract but he's one of the few who is actually worth it. He's the best interior DL in football and they have the money to pull it off.

Once again, I don't see it happening but I also don't see any harm in throwing it out there. Andy just wants to argue and I don't care enough about this to bother.

Brady has gone down once in 18 years, and it was the young QB's who got hurt in their brief appearances last season,I would take my chances.

I think that was a long time ago, though.

More importantly, Bryant is another bigger bodied DT/DE, so he's not exactly up for filling the responsibilities of the losses of Nink or Rivers. If anything, Belichick would likely be inclined to simply keep Butler.

I could be wrong, but I don't see a lack of depth/talent at the specific type of role that Bryant would provide. With that said, I now fully expect Belichick to bring him in for a camp visit tomorrow morning.

Bring em' in Bill

Andy doesn't want to argue. If you recognize the idea is insane there is no argument. If you fail to recognize it's insane then I will tell you it's insane and you can choose yo argue that or not.

Sorry, bud. Didn't read back far enough to realize that you're in the middle of a debate. My bad.

Just rumors and speculation at this point, but it appears that the Brock Osweiler Era in Cleveland may be over before it began.

Browns' Brock Osweiler reportedly won't play in Week 3 of the preseason

The third preseason game is typically where starters and veterans get their most reps in, and Osweiler's being plastered to the bench even though he's been starting up to this point.

One potential theory on the benching is that the Browns are going to attempt to get something for Osweiler in a trade and thus don't want him to get injured, but Osweiler isn't leaning in that direction himself.

Brock Osweiler 'disappointed' and might welcome trade or release: 'I'm still a very young QB'

But Osweiler, who sat for three seasons behind Peyton Manning in Denver before starting seven games there (5-2 record) in 2015 and 14 last year in Houston (8-6), sounds a lot like a man who would welcome the opportunity to go somewhere else.

"I want to prove that I'm a better player than I showed at times last year," said Osweiler, who clashed with Texans coach Bill O'Brien and was benched late last season. "I want to show that I'm an improved player. I'm still a very young, young quarterback in this league. I'm 26 years old and I still think I have a lot to bring to the table and I'm very eager to show people that.''

Will DeShone Kizer Earn the Browns' Starting QB Job?

When the Browns reconvened for camp, Osweiler had every opportunity to win the starting job. Thus far, he flat-out has not done so. He was downright putrid in the Browns’ preseason opener, sailing myriad passes above a height reachable by any flightless receiver. Given a second chance to start last week, vs. the Giants, he showed little improvement. He finished that game 6-of-8 for a mere 25 yards, plus had a pass intercepted after it was batted down at the line.

I wouldnt.

Fair enough, I get wanting insurance at QB given the talent they have. Donald, imo, is a rare player, so I would take the chance as I think an interior pass rusher like that makes your entire defense much better. Bottom line, it isn't likely to ever happen, but taking the shot doesn't hurt.

Not a problem. I threw it out because if the other team thinks Garrapolo will be really good then the values are close, as a franchise QB is valued like a top 20 player in the league.

I'll take Bridgette Moynahan. You can have Gisele.

Of course, you may need Tom's permission, first.

Love Aaron Donald since the draft. I remember @mayoclinic and others in the draft board being crazy about him. I just feel like SB wins are generally pretty rare and having someone on the bench that if the worst case scenario happens can still run most of the normal offense at minimal drop-off is too valuable to pass up.

Either way please can we just skip the next 2 weeks and go directly into the season ? The waiting time is killing me..

Bridgette finally gave up on waiting for me and got married.
Love how even in flats she towers over her 2 brothers on "Blue Bloods"

Ive wondered the same thing.

Yea its total BS.

Hes listed at 5-10.

Mark W is listed at 5-8

Standing next to Jenny McCarthy hes has about an inch on her and shes 5-7.

Bridge is listed at 5-10. She might be taller than that.

No question she is taller than him.

When Donny stands next to 6-4 Selleck he looks like a midget.

Interesting option. Wonder if he's got anything left in the tank.

. . . sorry to interrupt the conversations going on here with football talk.

He didn't seem to slow down much at all over the past three seasons. Pretty consistent in sacks and tackles. He's about 6'4"/255+. Might fit well if he's willing to accept a Harris-like contract.
