just preseason I know ....but really rough night for this kid. With last years shaky and negative play by him I would imagine he might be on the bubble..,.,what do u think

Maybe. Richards probably played himself off this team and that opens up a spot. Cyrus you can still justify believe he will turn it around being only a 2nd year guy. Harder to buy that with Richards.

Richards gone allows you to carry Moore anyway. If you ut CJ who else do you carry? I doubt they cut him to carry a player on offense who likely won't play as much STs as he would.

I want the pile of crap to play more positions, so we can watch him suck at those, too.

Cut the bum.

Hell no.

Ridiculous to watch Giardi and Fleger roast this kid when the 2nd TD was the fault of the safety.......and they know it.

That being said, I have to say he didn't look quick or explosive during those plays

Too early to confirm either way, with 3 preseason games remaining. He still has a shot at turning it around, and Belichick has proven to be patient with higher round draft picks after only one season.

He certainly isn't looking too promising at the moment, though.

Not sure why you would keep C Jones and cut Moore.

Jordan Richards did himself no favors tonight either,

Richards is what he is. No more upside potential to him.

Cy Jones has upside potential.....but as a Safety. It's worth at least a look. Replace Jordan Richards with Cy Jones. We know the answer on Richards. Richards ain't getting any better.

I just wish we had that one play, whether it was on special teams or defense, that showed us he's capable of big things. But unless I blocked out something from last season, we've yet to see a single big moment from him in his career that gives us hope going forward.

He's shown that he's capable of allowing big things. That's the best I can tell you, right now.

Not fast enough or strong enough to cover on the outside.
So far a nickle corner at best - then again perhaps he would like a ticket out of here so ......

How do you turn it around from being slow, not quick, lacking instinct, having bad hands and little confidence? Thus far Cyrus Jones has demonstrated inability to make the leap from college to the pro level.

Can't be all on the safety when he's 10 yards behind the receiver. That's not how coverage works.

The fumbles last year was one thing. I was willing to give him another try, chalking it up to inexperience.

But now? He can't return kicks, he can't return punts, he can't cover, he can't tackle...what the hell CAN he do?

Well it worked with McCourty.
