My son is in college, so the best deal I can find is the Sunday Ticket student subscription for $99. Leaning toward that... I'm rather weary of the questionable internet sites... the streams are of meh quality... and you also get...

Firestick with Kodi. I watched every game last year.

Could be your WiFi. My stream was very clear and strong last season.
Might be. About to dump time Warner and switch to Verizon fios. Hope that solves it.

You're lucky. I have zero options outside of the pirates at Comcast in my area.

Not being a tech-savvy youngster that grew up with an IPAD in my crib, is it easy and straight forward? Do I just go to Best Buy and purchase it? Are there any other hoops to jump through or steps that I need to take? I don't really understand the technology, but I think I remember seeing it at Best Buy.

I just got one for this year* but haven't plugged it in yet. FYI, you can buy the Firestick already configured/Kodi on ebay if you don't want to make your own.

* On Kontra's advice.

I bought an HD antenna for local channels, which should broadcast at least half of the Pats games here in SC.

In an emergency, I hoping to watch them from the NFL service after the fact or run out to the sports bar.

I have been paying for Directv and the ticket, but it's insane to pay $2,000+ per year to only watch about 8 Pats games. Everything else on that thing is either terrible, useless, full of commercials or available on streaming.

If you have an option to stream the Sunday Ticket for 99 bucks, I'd say your problem is already solved! :)

I do a VPN + Gamepass. It's expensive but the quality is solid and I have access to the games for months. They just did a redesign so they took down all the previous seasons that were available before I finished saving them off with PlayOn but I'm hoping they come back.

The VPN is so I can have an endpoint in the Netherlands and other places where Gamepass is available without issue, connect to vpn, launch gamepass, launch game, shut down VPN, watch with pretty great quality.

I had the $99 Sunday Ticket thing but I didn't like the quality I was getting compared to Gamepass and the Patriots are something I'll pay extra for quality.

Does Kodi + Firestick allow you to pause streams? That's one of my issues with Vipbox and the like streams. Sometimes I gotta poop, you know.

Gamepass must have just taken the games down because I was watching a Saints game from last season yesterday. But you're right no games are available right now.

I'll bet we're getting the search functions back.

Sorry - they have 2016 up but not 2009-2015. I was slowly getting them all downloaded so I hope they put them back up and I have a ticket open with PlayOn to fix the downloading issue.

Honestly I just want all the freaking games I can going back to 1985 so I've got a long road ahead of me. If the NFL would just sell the goddamn seasons I'd buy them in a heartbeat. Or put up a subscription service that gives you 24x7 access to the games.

Freaking tenyard torrents disabled my account cause I hadn't been there in so long and I don't know where to go now.

It is more than just going to Best Buy and buying it, but that doesn't mean it is complicated either. I am far from tech savvy and I got mine set up just by going to youtube and searching. Spend a few minutes looking into it and you'll be fine, just make sure that you have a good wi-fi connection.

I recently called Comcast to switch out of HBO and into Showtime for my Ray Donovan fix......and incredibly, they reduced my monthly bill by $32 while boosting my internet speed and giving me Starz as part of the package. I couldn't believe I was talking to Comcast....the worst company I have ever dealt with. I did have to lock it in for 12 months. Give 'em a call....they're giving the store away :)

AT&T wireless is another company willing to deal. Call 'em up and tell you're moving on to a cheaper competitor....and low and behold.....unadvertised plans are magically made available.

Sirius XM....another easily manipulated company. Cancel your subscription....and they will offer you a bunch of reduced packages...but say no to all. They will finally put you on with a "specialist" who will actually ask..."how much do you want to pay".
For years I was paying $25 bucks for 5 month intervals... and after 4 years of playing the game, they finally offered a year package for $60.

If only the electric company would play ball

OT: But I want to thank all who helped me cut the cable a few months ago. Firestick plus HD Antenna has been awesome.. Great advice.

2016 isn't there today so they're doing something. I'm guessing it's to reinstall all the missing features that were available last season such as search by player, team, play etc..

I really hope they fix it soon. The timing is ******** because I like to rewatch the previous season leading up to the current one. ****ers.

I'd advise looking into Plex. You can use an HD antennae with it and I believe it allows you to record. I haven't bought an HD antennae for my plex server yet but I want to.

I found the Kodi on the fire stick to be underpowered. I have Kodi running on a Raspberry Pi 3. I haven't streamed games yet but tomorrow is the test. I use it a lot. It's a pain to set up the first time ( not half the nightmare of the Firestick ) so PM me for hints.

Basically you download an image to an SD card called NOOBS then pop it in your Raspberry Pi and turn it on. Configure it to boot to OBMC and Raspian if you want a Linux desktop (I never use it). It prompts you to select the OS at startup.

Configuring Kodi is easy once you know where to click.
