Let's hope he isn't. We could use him, even if he isn't as effective as yesteryear. His leadership alone is worth having him on the 2017 roster.

Would you put it past BB to tell Nink to sit out for an "undisclosed" reason just to troll the mediots?

"Hey Nink, let's give those idiots something to chew on. Watch how far they take it" :D

I bet that arrogant bastard Gilmore showed up with his name in big letters on his jersey.

Edit: not sure if practice jerseys have names. Whatever, still comedy gold!

I was baffled no team drafted this high production collegiate star. Given the success of diminutive shifty white WRs in the modern NFL passing game.....why did every team take a pass.
Prove 'em all wrong Austin Carr.

Somehow we've gotten to the point where every white WR is presumed to be a diminutive slot receiver. The same thing happened with Hogan last year.

For the record: Austin Carr is bigger than Malcolm Mitchell.

BB to Nink: "Look, Goodell isn't up our asses this year..take a couple days off...let the fun begins.

Move TE : Jacob Hollister was a Priority-UDFA Pats paid decent $$$ for him he better start making some noise...Matt Lengel is not much to beat out.
I know. Goddam, Hollister, it's getting LATE!!!

LOL, if so, he's trolling a ****load more than the mediots...

So Mitchell is too short to play WR? :D

I guess there's no deflate nonsense and Goodell's name isn't being dragged through the mud lately (what gives?!), so sure. LOL :D

Just started reading the thread today and couldn't pass up this Giardi comment.

IMO, Giardi was once a decent reporter who evidently decided that in this market there was only room for one Mike Reiss type reporter. Like so many, he has come to realize that the Minnehan/Felger model was the way to get more radio and TV time, so he has taken that road.

The irony here is that that the newest "snark" on the scene is calling our BB for being a snark to the media. For Giardi, he knows that he's got a least a years run with the Brady/JG story line, and more likely more. Not a bad job if you can get it. He'll be getting paid well for telling the same story hundreds of different ways

Now BB is now at such a point where we all look at what he does in his pressers as akin to a loved grandfather who gets cranky and impatient. In other words he can get away with it.....NOW. But don't forget how it was in the early days when frauds like Borges tried to discredit the Pats in every article he wrote....and still does those rare times he gets a chance. Juar look at how the Sox are getting hammered. Their "crime". They DARED to talk back. Now its constant articles about how the Sox "insulted" them, and how "unlikeable" they are, and lately going to back to how Pedroia is a bad guy for the Manchado thing that happened in freakin April.

Just ranting. ;). Now back to the tread.

Gilmore was one of the more frustrating draft prospects for me to evaluate a few years back. Sometimes I would think he was going to be the next Revis / Law / Sanders, and other times he looked lost. If he can show some consistency under Belichick, then watch out! He could make his contract look like a bargain, when he plays at his peak. Nice closing speed on that pass breakup posted above.
Correct. I think coaching and his coachability will be the key to Gilmore's success. I think part of his inconsistency in Buffalo can be directly connected to the coaching upheaval that has marked his time with the Bills, and the complexity of Rex's D that caused so many mental mistakes by the Bill's secondary.

With the Pats he will be in a stable systems with very experienced and talented S's and mental mistakes will be minimal. If he turns out to be one of those guys who loves to get coached, then we should expect to see more of the "gifted" CB, and less of the inconstent one.

Ken, by far the most ironic, hypocritical aspect of the entire recent fiasco is this: the local media's incessant drive to convince everyone that the Red Sox have some hyper-sensitive, thin-skinned players (which they do) is hilarious when one considers that the local media contingent has a far higher percentage of hyper-sensitive, thin-skinned members than the Red Sox do. Pot, meet kettle...

This is what makes Amendola not a lock. You simply cannot let potentially the next Edelman sail out the door. How good Amendola looks is really irrelevant at his age. It is whether Carr looks like the real deal. We certainly are not there yet however.

Nope. Dola is a lock unless he gets injured or magically declines to the point where he can't catch a ball or run a competitive speed.

If Carr looks like he could be another Edelman, and you are only keeping 5 WRs, tell me what do you do?

You mean if he shows flashes like Sudfeld, Derby or Tyms ? Good for Carr that he showed up to camp and it might go a long way to help him make another team's 53 but there is simply no space on this team for an unproven WR who had one nice camp. People just get way ahead of themselves..

The word "if" was included. Everyone assumes our 5 wideouts are set in stone. No one seems to be allowing for the possibility a real gem is uncovered. But we do sign these new players hoping that exactly that happens. And sometimes it does. I honestly think some would prefer parting with Brady than Amendola.

I don't have an issue parting with Amendola. What I have an issue with is letting him go for an unproven UDFA. How do you determine if he is a real gem or just this year's overly hyped camp UDFA that gets cut around October ?

To be fair, the Sox deserve every ounce of crap being flung their way. This isn't about talking back, it's about how they did it. And whom they did it too. Pedroia as well. His "can I just go home?" comment was one for the ages

In regards to Giardi, I agree with your rant. He's gone downhill so much that I got into it with him a bit last year for picking the Steelers in the AFCCG for "football reasons". Shame the Boston media has turned into a bunch of Felgers.

The Ninko retirement talk is gaining traction. I'm hearing it now on the radio. Oh boy. Depth and production was already a concern . . .

We had a clear rebuttal of the entire retirement talk already yesterday and again today. Who is still discussing this crap ?

Every year an UDFA who had one nice camp displaces someone from a stacked playoff roster in NE.
