I disagree. How Amendola looks plus his resume are relevant.

He is arguably WR #5. This is quite likely his last year in NE under any circumstances. He has been great, but you cannot lose a potential several year stud for several years to keep Amendola. We do not know if Carr is that yet. If he is, sending him to the practice squad means losing him. Of course, injuries could change things.

This is what makes Amendola not a lock. You simply cannot let potentially the next Edelman sail out the door. How good Amendola looks is really irrelevant at his age. It is whether Carr looks like the real deal. We certainly are not there yet however.

As stated. its not how he looks, its how he will perform under the brightest lights in the most important situations. Time and Time again DA has come though over and over with crucial plays during the highest stakes. You cant teach that, you cant SHOW that in camp.

Its ice in the veins. DA has lived up to number 80 IMO. And he is done it about as unselfishly as possible (pay cuts)

I cant think of anything more complimentary to DA then to compare him to Troy Brown who is think its the best all around football player the patriots ever had and certainly up there in clutchness.

In a kickoff drill????

Tony, after watching Danny play the last few postseason games, I'd be shocked, shocked and shocked if he isn't on the roster...He is too clutch.

4th and 3, two pt. conversion, TD, First downs. All on the biggest stage during a historical comeback. That is some all time clutchness.

If Carr looks like he could be another Edelman, and you are only keeping 5 WRs, tell me what do you do?

The Jets game helicopter catch. The returns in that game, the onside kick recovery, the Baltimore 3rd down conversion in the AFCG in 14, the Giants game 2 years ago in the 4th qtr when he was injured, the Buffalo game bomb, you can go on an on.....

Cyrus really needs to tone his edge down. Not doing himself any favors.

I thought BB drafted Intelligent players seems like Cyrus the virus is more Brawn than Brains.

As much as I like Carr, and how much I wish he will be a Patriot, I don't think he will be on the 2017 Patriot's 53 man roster, UNLESS they decide to go with 6 receivers. If they don't, we have to hope he makes it to the practice squad. 2018 he probably replaces Amendola.

Amendola is TOO clutch to give up on this year. Plus he has Brady's trust.

Sure but how Amendola looks is relevant. If Carr can't beat out a "#5 WR" then how much of a stud is he?

Btw: #5 WR seems a bit misleading. I'd call DA more of a utility knife. KR, PR, Slot, WR etc... Nice asset to have.

I am glad to see Carr having a good start to the season though.
