Never understood this theory. Why on earth would Bill Belichick retire from coaching only to continue to put in hour after hour from the press box, instead? It doesn't make any sense.

I think when he's done, he's done. He's not going to continue committing a similar amount of time just to be titled under a different position, at least in my opinion.

It starts making sense when you think that the years might make BB unable to do the coaching thing physically. there's definitely a physical element to being a good coach after all, and assuming BB can't keep up physically but the franchise absolutely wants to keep that mind in harness as long as possible, then he can be upstairs doing roster stuff and being available so Patricia and/or other coaches and players could pick his brains on playbook matters and take advantage of that incredible wealth of experience and the winning roster building philosophy, while Patricia handles the day to day team prep.

Goodell 100% deserves all of the disdain that comes his way. The absolute fraud he perpetuated with both bountygate and spygate still stun me to this day. To go out of his way to not only create fake controversies but to then double down with insane punishments is so baffling. To call into question the sport that you lead then suspend a coach for a year and a QB for 4 games to "highlight" how severe the crimes were is the epitome of stupid and completely contrary to the "integrity of the game" you so falsely pretend to care about. If he honesty believes his public narrative then he is much dumber than I suspect (and I already consider him quite dumb) but if he not dumb then that means his is wholly corrupt which is even worse.

I would think any successful CEO of a large entity would look at this and from their perspective, believe that Roger still should be upset at his minions in the NYFL offices that duped him into the entire deflate fiasco thereby making him look like a laughingstock around the world.

Does this man not have a modicum of modesty to realize the the Buck should have stopped with him and he should have taken charge immediately to end it that next day after the AFCC?

Roger, the clown nose is on YOUR face and the fact that Patricia wore the shirt created by a media company is NOT disparaging to his character, it's your character in question.
