OT Giants equipment scandal looking real bad. Employee lies to FBI

The Giants probably won't get punished harshly by the league for this but hopefully this story will drag out for two years and bring about the demise of Goodell due to his incompetence.

Dragged out?

HA

the only people even talking about it are patriots fans and barstool sports. Find any other sports blog writing about how 2 giant staffers committed felonies by lying to the FBI. If brady so much as puts ketchup on a hotdog there would be riots in the ****ing streets.

Remember...to justify suspension, draft pick loss, and hefty fines, Goodell will have to find that Eli was "More or less, probably, having somewhat of a general knowledge of" any said activities.

This will be difficult to prove as one cannot just "manufacture" facts or information. That would be cheating!

Eli doesn't belong in the HOF, but neither does Joe Namath, and look how that turned out.
I could make a far better case for Namath than for Eli.

Namath was the first QB to pass for over 4,000 yards in a season, and the only one to ever do it prior to the NFL expanding to a 16-game season. He led the league in passing yardage three times, and passing touchdowns once. Namath led the league in yards per pass attempt twice, and was in the top-3 five times. He also led the league in yards per completion three times, and was in the top-5 seven times. Namath was also named the MVP twice.

Namath was one of the best quarterbacks of his era (though I would agree, still not deserving of the Hall of Fame). Eli on the other hand has never been one of best QBs when compared to his peers. Both threw far too many picks. The only thing he has over Namath is longevity. Looking at his career season by season, in comparison to all 31 other quarterbacks for each of those years, Eli is the definition of 'average' - at best.

The thing about Namath that I'll never understand because I wasn't around is how he was somehow one of the best at the time, while still throwing more interceptions than touchdowns. I get it was a radically different time, but still...doesn't seem right.

As well there should be!!

This again? Christ, just give him four games and be done with it. Tired of talking about it, don't care if he's guilty or innocent just take the four games and the first round pick.
Ahhh... I don't think so. If the FBI is investigating this and it's found to actually be ILLEGAL, EM should be prosecuted.

The NFL penalty for committing and being convicted of grand larceny or fraud would be far greater than 4 games

I want to see emails from Eli, including personal ones that have nothing to do with memorabilia so that I can judge him
I want to see all of his texts over the last several years
I want an independent investigation launched
I want the equipment managers suspended
I want a 1st round pick stripped from the Giants
I want a 4th round pick stripped from the Giants
I want Eli manning suspended for at least 4 games (this is a felony, after all)
I want ESPN anchors crying about what a liar Eli is
I want the Giants organization fined an amount equal to the amount they defrauded, multiplied by x10
I want media asking Eli "What about the children" questions, preferably right before the biggest game of his life
I want Goodell to repeat the word integrity over 500 times, while stating that he has to treat all players equally to protect the game
I want media heads flapping those holes in their faces every day about this until they've firmly destroyed his reputation outside of his region

I want all of these things... I'm sure Joker could add a few more to that list tho haha

I want the mainstream talking heads to feign disgrace and shcok on the evening news.

Not sure about that. A Giant's kicker beat his wife multiple times and got one game.

Anything originating from Jerry Thornton is wishful thinking. I appreciate his Pats' loyalty, but he's a hopeless dink.

Good grief.

Hes not even in the top 5 of Giants Qbs all-time IMO.

Yikes you would think hes a top 5 Qb of all-time.
I grew up watching NY Giants games broadcast to Massachusetts, and though I hated them, I can say that Eli doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as one Yelberton Abraham Tittle, Jr.

I was around and for every AFL fan, including Patriot fans, January 12, 1969 was a glorious f###### day and Joe Namath, Weeb Ewbank and the Jets were responsible for that euphoria. Before that day, the NFL looked upon everything in the AFL the way one would look at dogshit on one's shoe sole. As a Pats' fan, it was the happiest football day of my life until we won the AFC championship in 1986.

And of course that's much worse.

But this is about fraudulently selling actual NFL equipment. So it should be interesting to watch how it works out.

And he's my cousin! Actually he's my second cousin. And we both grew up in Weymouth

I've stopped holding my breath on these things ever since Supreme Court judge Chin offered up an opinion of "compelling if not overwhelming" and the illegal shipment of HGH to Manning's wife led to nothing.

This will disappear.

Condolences. But, it's not your fault. We all know what they say about how you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your relatives...

The Feebs were also involved in that investigation. High profile target. Investigation quietly dropped. Prediction: it happens again.
