Well, it's good to see that nothing has changed in Pittsburgh, as Mike Tomlin decided to give his team the day off so they could play video games at "Dave and Buster's" arcade/restaurant.

Tomlin scraps OTA on Monday, take players to Dave & Buster’s instead

Of course, that won't stop him from complaining about headset malfunctions, trick formations, warm Gatorade--or whatever excuse will be popular at the time.

I hate the steelers more than anyone on this board, but this story means nothing. Belichick has done it too.

Your example comes at the end of a long, grueling season in January, during a bye week, and was done as a reward for hard work and effort. Mike Tomlin, OTOH, chose to do it within the first few days of his team's mini camp, and he deemed it as a "team building exercise."

While one team was busting their asses in the pouring rain and sledding in mud today, another team known for constantly making up ******** excuses had just finished blowing off one of the first days of their mini camp. In other words, it's good to see that nothing has changed with Tomlin's approach to how he handles his team.

He was considered by some experts (e.g. Mel Kiper) a borderline first round talent just a year ago.
So who is all in the mix there? Obviously, Flowers and Ninkovich. Rivers, and Ealy, too. How about Wise and Guy? Is the latter a DT? I honestly haven't familiarized myself with either of the last two, yet.

According to Curran Guy is pretty flexible and was used in the OTAs all over the line even lining up as DE 7/9 tech. He assumes that Guy will go into the year as a DT on paper but is diverse enough in his skillset to be used anywhere really. Except maybe on the edge on third and long, of course.

If you listen to the interview of Bielama I think there is a good chance that Wise will not contribute much this year but will almost redshirt it to get his body into where it needs to be on a pro level. I think he is very intriguing but I see him more as a 2018 contributer. Similarly, I think that Rivers will need more strength to be proficient against the run but will see snaps in passing situations.

Ealy is wildcard who can be a big contributer if he can put everything together or an August cut if not. At this point I am not expecting too much from him otherwise the Panthers wouldn't have just moved on for next to nothing. But of course my fingers are crossed that a change of scenery and coaching can make him finally realize his potential.

Anyway, thats just complete speculation.. can't wait for camp to finally get to see things starting to become more clear..

Guy plays everything and he's not excluding DB .
Wise was practicing dropping in coverage with LB unit yesterday.

The versatility Pats get out of their guys can never be overestimated.
And then just look at all the different D looks they provided their opp. with in playoffs.

Like Lombardi says: the most valuable player is a guy you cannot formation off the field (meaning: that can play all downs no matter what opposition throws at you)..

Listened to Polian on Sirius for three hours today...took calls and blabbed about every team in the NFL...except one.

Seriously, I'd love to whap this jerkoff in the face with a paper bag full of dogshyt
Why would you hit Polian with a paper bag full of Polian? What's wrong with a 2x4?

A reminder that even as a clear 1-3 RB option . he will not be spared of ST duties.
(barring injuries . this yr will be tougher than ever to justify room for guys like Bolden)

Perhaps you missed this earlier in the thread?

Respect, patchick. Yeah, you're talking one spectacular catch vs. a number of reports of him dropping passes, including easier ones. Look, I added at the very beginning of my post "file this under too early to panic . . . " One of the initial things I read after they traded for him, in fact, was this very thing.

I understand that anything we see now should be taken with a grain of salt. But I also mentioned that I would be watching Cy Jones for any continued issue with punts early in TC and here we are still talking about the same thing. I was destroyed by a few posters for a few days in fact. Things change at times with players and then not at other times. It just happens this way sometimes, and I just want to see how Allen continues to progress. It's all my simple post was saying. Hopefully things will improve and become a consistent second TE option, or even a suitable replacement for the games Gronk will (seemingly) inevitably miss.

It's the 7th practice for him here in cold, windy and rainy conditions. This shouldn't even be under too early to panic. That happens even to the best players and especially mandatory minicamp is there to make mistakes. It's a learning camp as BB said.

Whatever. I feel I've made myself clear. It's something I'm watching moving forward. If you think something else is more important to watch, then watch something else. First practice, second practice, 90th practice, you want the guy making more plays than not. That does not appear to be what is happening at the moment. But I'm on a board that was still wanting Dobson to make the team after many years of not being able to make the plays. It is what it is. Respect your opinion nonetheless.

Yeah, I've read quite a few reports about his versatility. I'm excited to see all of the additions to the DL, but I'm especially interested in this guy and the continued improvement of Flowers. Flower is becoming one of my favorite players on the whole team. I really like watching him play.
