Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff
June 6, 2008 06:25 AM

The Patriots are scheduled to hold their three-day, mandatory mini-camp today, Saturday and Sunday. The mini-camp is closed to the public. Here is the schedule for media access:

Friday
10:45 a.m. -- Passing camp practice
12:30 p.m. -- Approximate time for media interviews on the field after practice

Saturday
10:45 a.m. -- Passing camp practice
12:30 p.m. -- Approximate time for media interviews on the field after practice

Sunday
2:15-3:15 p.m. -- Passing camp practice
3:15 p.m. -- Approximate time for media interviews on the field after practice

The plan will be to post updates after each session with some observations.

Mods: maybe we can sticky this thread for MINI Camp updates. Pats1 if you start a thread could you merge this with yours?

Let's get this season started already! Redemption time.

Re: PATRIOTS MINI CAMP - starts today

Thank God. Something sports related in this forum.

And I was just about to start a thread about what player has the best hairstyle/facial hair? I guess that can wait until next week.

Just letting you know, facial hair goes to Mankins or Light.

Re: PATRIOTS MINI CAMP - starts today

I'm pumped I love reading the observations from camp, I know it doesn't mean everything but I get a kick out of the little things.
Such as players footwork, how they act after they blow a assignment, did they learn after the first time or did they keep making the same error.
I'd be a complete liar if I said the 3 things I want to hear about is our defensive rookies, including the free agents.
How the secondary matches up with the receivers.
I know i'm gonna get alot of backlash for this but how Jackson and Washington look manning the spot next to Randy.

Re: PATRIOTS MINI CAMP - starts today

Huggy Bear, I mean Nick Kaczur is present.

Not in attendance:

WR Kelley Washington
CB Ellis Hobbs
RG Stephen Neal
OT Oliver Ross
WR Wes Welker
TE Benjamin Watson
LB Bo Ruud
DL Jarvis Green
DL Mike Wright

Oh, that would have been just too fab-o~!

Re: PATRIOTS MINI CAMP - starts today

FWIW, Jackson is apparently doing quite well at hauling in passes. :)

Got a good chuckle out of that one, well done.

OMG OMG OMG you mean Tom Brady is actually here? That lowlife scumbag decided to make it to at least ONE mini-camp? Good to see you Tom. Nice to see you're actually working out with the team you selfish, uninspired jerk-off.

Are the naysayers who were doubting Tom's commitment to the team finally happy? Honestly, the fact that some people doubted Brady's commitment made me actually bang my head off the keyboard at one point. Literally.

Seems to do that when the pads are off. Remember, he won a receiving contest in college.

He'd probably do it with the pads on too, but can't get near the field, or at least hasn't been able to thus far.

Let's hope we finally see him this year.

Good thing he won that receiving contest, 'cause he never had the numbers or production to warrant consideration without it.

Nice TD by Gaffney
June 6, 2008

On a well-run corner route, WR Jabar Gaffney turned CB Terrence Wheatley around and the rookie fell to the ground, leaving Gaffney wide open for a nicely-thrown pass by Gutierrez.

Is that really a "nice TD" by Gaffney, or just a bad play by a rookie corner?
