sounds great

OK, we have about 25 rookies, 4 of which are draftees and 21 of which are UDFA's. What percentage of each group do you expect to make the 53?

I'm not really sure what you're trying to get at here by bringing up percentages; of course it's weighted toward the draft picks. I'm not implying that we aren't going to keep our drafted players. I am referring to the limited nature of draft slots, which opens up the possibility for quality players to not hear their names called on draft day.

At least one UDFA has made the roster every year for as long as I can remember under this coaching staff. Why should this year be any different?

Is Wise a DE? DT? Either? I was surprised to read his high production in college.

both or either . any way you want him
if he can stay healthy . a steal of the draft

Almost identical Combine # as C Jones . with experience/capability to play inside.
His quickness #: 1.70 (10y) / 7.07 (3-cone) / 4.36 (ss)
close to Solomon Thomas, not far behind Myles Garrett

File this under too early to panic but noteworthy: In a few OTA's and now minicamp, only reports of Dwayne Allen struggling to catch the ball.

I think Allen will be fine, I've seen him play before he's good.

With that said, Please don't be Scott Chandler 2.0

I couldn't stand watching Chandler play, he was dreadful

Ya torn acl but did he have that early in the season when he couldn't catch a cold?

He had career ending (at least so far) knee surgery after his season with the Pats, but I thought he was having knee problems all season, which I assumed affected his play. Other posters have made the same assumption a couple of years ago, but of course I don't have inside information on how much he was really affected early on.

He was the softest 6 ft 8 in man I have ever seen.

I thought that you implied that talent didn't matter, and that draft placement didn't matter.

Obviously, the patriots sign 1-3 of the players that are drafted in the late rounds or as UDFA's. Bring in 25 each year does always yield at least one that make the roster. McDermott (6th round), Langi (ILB) and Hollister (TE) are the most likely at this point; but the lucky one or two could be anyone. And they might even contribute as a rookie, although that is unlikely.
======

This is no biggie. It's just me. I just get somewhat bored reading through all the posts on the 20 UDFA's that have almost no chance to make the 53 or even the Practice Squad.

There are enough bubble players to watch that truly have a chance like Foster, Bolden, McDermott, Douglas, Farris, Hollister, Bates, and Langi.

The only player I'd be a little concerned about with dropping the ball at this stage would be Cyrus Jones....I think Allen will be fine.

What was the knock on Allen according to Dolts fans. Drops? Or was it something else?
