I have a gut feeling that the Pats actually will move Jimmy tonight. As Curran said... if there was absolutely positively NO WAY that they were trading Jimmy under any circumstances, then they would've told Cleveland to F off and stop calling weeks ago. And the Jimmy-to-Cleveland link has been going for a while, Cleveland clearly loves him and wants him specifically. I think Bill's master level game of "chicken" will come to its finale this evening.

I am not sure that BB is convinced that JG is the second coming. But after those 6 quarters he might see the chance to sell him that way. And might parlay him into a basketful of draft picks that they really cannot use now, but could in a year or 2 to set up the future. Who knows what he really thinks?

Not sure this is right, but certainly cannot say this is wrong.

Others have said it before, but it could also have something to do with BB just not being fully sure of Brissett as the backup QB, and he wants to get a look at him in camp before he is comfortable moving Jimmy. Perhaps Bill felt that he would rather keep Jimmy around a little while longer just in case Brissett is not up-to-snuff and not be caught with his pants down if he moved Jimmy too soon. If Brissett is deemed to be good enough, Jimmy can still be traded to Cleveland, albeit for probably a little less of a "haul" and for picks next year vs. this year. But, this team is stacked already, so most of those picks would've probably been with next year in mind, anyway.

BINGO!

It's pretty obvious they're not as concerned with this years draft.

Cleveland will NOT have their future QB this summer. They will pay up.

You don't know that....

Brady has said he wants to play until Garoppolo is 45. It is well known that Brady is a fierce competitor whether it is football or dominoes in the locker room. The guy is constantly talking about how young he feels and how hard he works to be in better shape at 40 than he was at 30.

The guy lives for football. He isn't walking away from football until football walks away from him.

Do you think Brady is the kind of guy that will announce to the media that he plans to retire if he wins his 6th ring?

Well the starting point has always been two first rounders. We will see. I would like that second rounder they have this year.

I blame the rest of the AFCE. BB knows what happens to team when they don't have a viable starting QB. no matter how good the rest of the players are, it all starts at the top.

ok, just semi-serious. He knows what he wants and has a plan and we have to believe him.

I'll drink the Kool-Aid, that is, the orange juice. Bill is right too often to question him on the value of JG, particularly when he sees him in practice every day and can compare Garoppolo to the other backups the Pats have had.

Brady has always avoided the big injuries. I think that arm has another 3 years left. We will see.

How this feels . . .

Time for an Instant Bargain!
Bill, you're in the lead, so listen close . . .

You can have the Cleveland Browns' second-rounder, #52, as well as Cleveland's top first- and second-round draft picks in 2018. All for the low, low price of one Jimmy Garoppolo!

[BB sits stonefaced.]

OK, to sweeten the deal, I'll throw in another second-rounder AND Josh Gordon! So that's this year's second, the higher of Cleveland's first and their top two second-rounders in 2018, PLUS Josh Gordon, still for the low price of one Jimmy Garoppolo!

Going once . . .

[BB looks like he's going to go for it.]

Going twice . . .

No sale!

[BB looks relieved.]

And if you're wondering about the reference . . .

No, but I don't think he would be adamant about playing until he is well into his 40s if he was contemplating it. And I know for a fact that if he is playing at a high level, he isn't walking away from the game when there is still a chance for a seventh or even an eight ring.

So I know this won't happen but just for discussion purposes if Cleveland gets on the phone to BB tonight and says "Ok Ok you win we want Jimmy we'll give you myles garrett for Jimmy straight up"..... would you do it??

3 1sts 4 2nds and 2 3rds. 2 nds and a 3rd this year.

Offer the higher 2nd and 3rd this year to Seattle for Sherman.

I am playing Madden. Lmao

Or your name is Sashi Brown.

He gets asked the same question all the time. That's basically a standard answer. Whether it's to avoid a retirement tour type of press coverage or if it's how he really feels is up for debate. We DO know that there was some talk between him and his wife about hanging it up after this last one. Six would pretty much keep him as the GOAT, the title count all but out of reach for future aspiring GOAT QBs, and would put him at 41 years old with his health intact and able to spend more time with his family. It's not exactly a stretch to imagine a discussion behind the scenes of Brady planning to retire if he wins his 6th this year. Whether you want to admit it or not, the theory holds water.

Brady has said he wants to play until Garoppolo is 45.

That was an Onion-like article. Another one from the same site claimed he'd play until he was sacked into his grave.
