Bills lose Gilmore.

"CBs aren't as important in our defensive system as the DEs and LBs"

Takes a CB with their 1st round pick

Cheaper. I don't fault them

I think the Patriots told people JG was not on the market. And that tells me that JG is possibly the starting QB for the Patriots in 2018. Unless they somehow franchised him and don't trade him.. and keep 2 top paid QB's on there roster which I am not sure but is very rare and maybe has never happened before. And let Brady play 2017 and 2018 and then JG starts in 2019.

Or maybe you are right the Pats weren't offered a 1st rounder.. but I don't think that's the case.

Well I just read a rumor that they were thinking about extending Brady.

You have to convince me how mahomes and Watson are worth alot more than jimmy G.

I can't answer that, cause I have no idea who mahones is. But the main point is QB is the most important position by far in pro sports. So if the Patriots the JG is the real deal then its already done. He will be the Patriots future QB. Unless they franchise JG next year and then trade him.

I think it could be as simple as JG was drafted to likely replace Brady when his decline started- and that decline never happened. Wouldn't be the first time it happened to a QB.

What happens in 2018 and beyond remains to be seen but I think chances are good he is just allowed to walk for the comp pick.
hell I think some people on here would take the comp pick at this point they are in such shock!

I hope that isn't true. Unless Brady really goes down hill, BB would be wrong to choose JG over Brady for 2018.

I am not in shock at all I knew the Pats weren't trading JG. Nothing has changed from my perspective this just bolsters my observations.

What did the browns give up to the packers?

it;s easy actually. Jimmy has one year left. The other QBs have 4 to 5 years on their rookie deals. The value difference is immense, in the rookies favor.

I'm just saying Jabrill Peppers is a player I could see Bill Belichick taking if he had the 25th pick.

I'm just saying it might make sense for a team to want a day to negotiate an extension if trading for a player whose contract expires in a year.

I'm just saying it would take a day to do a simple restructure of a player's contract, so the bulk of the player's salary is paid by the trading team.

I'm just saying this never ending saga might still have life.
Not sure...listening to Mike Lombardi I get the impression that Peppers is not going to pan out.
