he just sees him as security for next year's Lombardi.

I think it could be as simple as JG was drafted to likely replace Brady when his decline started- and that decline never happened. Wouldn't be the first time it happened to a QB.

What happens in 2018 and beyond remains to be seen but I think chances are good he is just allowed to walk for the comp pick.

Plus the small sample size was good but hardly projecting a future potential MVP - against teams who had no tape on him.

Even Siemian looked as good if not better over a similar a small sample size IMO
I don't understand a lot of the wailing over how other teams could make a 1st round move to get other QBs, who will be under contract for 4 to 5 years on the cheap. To get Jimmy it has to work on now and fast. If he is playing well next year you need to sign him fast or franchise him. You are faced with too much **** too fast with the Jimmy situation, and no matter what anyone on here says you have no idea if he is worth it yet. I think this is more a case of teams really not wanting to give up too much for him, over getting a younger QB for 4 to 5 years. People call Jimmy Aaron Rodgers far too easily.

I'm just saying Jabrill Peppers is a player I could see Bill Belichick taking if he had the 25th pick.

I'm just saying it might make sense for a team to want a day to negotiate an extension if trading for a player whose contract expires in a year.

I'm just saying it would take a day to do a simple restructure of a player's contract, so the bulk of the player's salary is paid by the trading team.

I'm just saying this never ending saga might still have life.

I think the Patriots told people JG was not on the market. And that tells me that JG is possibly the starting QB for the Patriots in 2018. Unless they somehow franchised him and don't trade him.. and keep 2 top paid QB's on there roster which I am not sure but is very rare and maybe has never happened before. And let Brady play 2017 and 2018 and then JG starts in 2019.

Or maybe you are right the Pats weren't offered a 1st rounder.. but I don't think that's the case.

You have to convince me how mahomes and Watson are worth alot more than jimmy G.

Last 4 picks will be imo

Lamp, Cook, Njuko and Obi.

If i get 2/3 I will call that a big win.

We all let ourselves get carried away on Jimmy I think. I honestly think that the people (fans of other teams) who mostly thought would be nuts to offer anything higher than a 2nd, reflected the real value out there for him.

White is okay. He's got some nice instincts. He's tough. But I don't see him covering any of our receivers. He's not super quick or sticky. When he's on, he'll do very well, but I think he can get beaten pretty consistently.

Nice pick for the Browns. Not a QB.
